NEW NTSC MEMBER

A new NTSC member to the site this week. His name is Ryan Harrington and is from the U.S.A. He has driven some super fast times on the KBs and VLs, the fastest being KB1 where he has hit double GOD times already! His overall standard is currently Master B overall and he is #40 on the NTSC Players' List.

THIS WEEK'S PRS

The Karters this week have been sending their PRs in at huge amounts! So there have been some big advances for some players by standard and position on their Players' List. In Germany Björn Kühn made a few new records, all King times, and it has helped him to pass Australian Champion, Ademir Cortes for the #12 position on PAL! Thorsten Fellberg has had an impressive week with so many new PRs! The fastest were two Legend times on GV2!! He looks ready to reach higher standards pretty quickly as he is already at Master A overall! Jérôme Gava sent in 3 new records, one of which was a GOD time on BC3 lap and a nice 5-lap to match! His Rainbow Road Lap has been taken down that little bit further for a Legend A 1-lap PR (also a new record of France!).

Michael Jongerius was another karter to impress many this week with a lot of PRs for Flower, Star and Special cups. He has been making some King and even Legend times, so it looks as though he might become one of the fastest in the Netherlands some day. His now stands at King F overall at #19 on the PAL Players' List. Mike Groels has continued to practice the powersliding techniques and hop-jumping to reach faster times and took down 20 SR points so far. Over in Sweden, Joakim Alderborn has desperately karted BC1 in an attempt to break the 1'30" barrier on PAL!! So far some good Legend times there, and it looks as though he could do it! He too has made it up to a new standard. He is King E overall at the moment and has passed Andrew Kent.

Simon Laflamme hit some times near WRs on DP3 this week! He landed a sub 1'20" along with a fast lap in the 15"7s. As a result, his SR went down to 1.000 making him Legend A overall!! Guillaume Sylvain improved a few PRs this week on MC4 and DP3 making King and Elite times, he remains at King F for the time being. Kelly Malo hasmanaged to reach Legend E, and is now very close to reaching Kevin Booth after his PR on VL1 lap which was a GOD time. Thomas Harrington returned with many fast records, including his KB and VL times not far from reaching the NTSC WRs! He has some serious potential to reach the Legend Karters as he is already King E overall standard and has passed a great number of players to be at #14 on the NTSC Players' List.

NATHAN STINSON

Kevin Booth has checked through Nathan Stinson's SMK tape, and he is now fully validated! This includes some of his fast NTSC World Records on the Vanilla Lakes! Unfortunately, as I have had little time this week, I was unable to re-instate him to the site. I will do so however for next week.

LINK PROBLEMS

There has been an on-going problem with some of the links on our site. As you may have noticed, some of the pages links bring up the incorrect page. This is a problem from geocities as we are guessing and nothing we can really do about it. The corrected link can be made again by uploading the page again to the server, as I had noticed when I tested it. So if there are links that are messed up here and there, let me know. Many of you new players to the site may not have been aware of this, so I thought I'd mention it here again.

NEW PAL MEMBER

Another new entry to the PAL section this week! François Mangeol from France has submitted all of his PAL times, and has managed to reach s ub 1'02" on MC1! His other PRs are looking great as he has ben placed at #26 on the PAL Players' List with an Elite B overall standard!

NATHAN STINSON IS BACK!

NTSC SMK Karter from U.S.A, Nathan Stinson is now back to the SMK site as he has been validated by video proof of his times! He has proven to have some super fast Vanilla Lake World Records, along with many other great PRs that have put him at #10 on the NTSC Players' List with an SR of 5.700 to make him Legend F overall!

THIS WEEK'S UPDATES

A lot of activity this week, and I have to say that DP2 has been going pretty crazy! Three karters were in the battle to both take and improve on the WRs there for NTSC! Simon Laflamme had some really good attempts at the WR, along with some other great PRs and a fast 5-lap WR on DP1 of 1'15"51! Simon ended up with a crazy WR lap for DP2 of 0'17"14!! Stanley Jeram joined in to the battle to claim the DP2 records, but fell short by some hundredths, his 1-lap being 0.01 slow from the new WR. Kelly Malo in the end impressed us all to finally claim the 1st place position on DP2 5-lap of 1'27"21!! He also went on to CI1 to make a great WR of 0'58"33! Kelly is now ahead of Kevin Booth at #6 in the World on NTSC and #2 in the U.S.A!

There has been a lot of other NTSC activity going on, Guillaume Sylvain has continued to climb to high ground with most of his old PRs improved upon once again, and he has now reached King B overall standard, looking ready to reach the Legends very soon! In the U.S.A the Thomas Harrington and Ryan Harrington have also been sending in a great number of new records, Thomas following Guillaume in the Legend direction now at King C overall and Ryan with some nice Master, Elite and King times taking him up to Elite F overall. Dirk Olson drove some fast KB1 times this week to keep up with the Harringtons and along with many new records, has climbed to King F overall standard.

Two Karters have returned from a break of SMK. Hue Le on NTSC submitted some new times on GV2, BC2, VL1 and GV3. These records cut some SR points off, enough to take Hue to the next level at Elite A! Andrew Kent also made a suprise return with new times on some Mushroom Cup courses. They were all Elite times, but did cut some of the SR down to put him at a slightly faster SR score in the King E. He is slowly working towards Ademir Cortes, champion of Australia.

Over in Europe with the PAL Karters, there has also been non-stop karting! Michael Jongerius is hitting some seriously fast times now, including GV2 with is a low 1'03"! He has PRed on most courses that chopped a lot of points off, and he has reached King C overall! He looks to be able to reach the Legends and become one of the best Dutch Karters! Mike Groels continues the powersliding techniques to improve records and is a Pro D on his way to Lola Zappara. There has been a bit less activity from France, but Franck Mazières has been back too to send more new records in, his GV2 of which is looking pretty fast! Franck is now King C, while Jérôme Gava reaches an SR tie with Roodhorst (loses in matchups), but has two super fast BC3 times, the lap is really good! Thorsten Fellberg is now Elite B with all his new records, mainly Elite times. Thorsten may be able to challenge Björn Kühn some day for the #1 spot in Germany.

NEW PAL MEMBER

A new PAL member from the U.K e-mailed this week, Dan Hooper. Dan used to play SMK a lot years ago and has picked up a copy again to send in his Time Trial records. He is a great player as he has hit many Elite and King times, his greatest being on KB1, go check those out! Dan is currently ranked at #22 on the PAL Players' List with an Elite A overall standard.

PR SUBMISSIONS THIS WEEK

It has been a great NTSC WR making week this week as the top karters from Canada keep on hitting more and more amazing new records! Stanley Jeram scooped the POW this week with his ultra-fast DP2 and GV3 WRs! DP2 he made 1'26"75 and the lap is in a WR tie at 0'17"14*. GV3 is getting crazier at 1'14"25 and the lap of 0'14"67! He has also had a go at KB2, and looks ready to take the 5-lap from Louis-Philippe pretty soon, if Laflamme doesn't sneak in and snatch it first. The 1-lap time of Stan on KB2 is also getting faster, Louis-Philippe has a tough lap WR there still, we will see how the others do in trying to reach it. Simon Laflamme went sub 1'28" on BC1 with 1'27"83!! He is also very close to the lap of Louis-Philippe, which may be improved on soon, but is another tough  one to take down! Simon also tried out the BC2 1-lap strategy and is getting on well there so far, and may be headed towards a sub 20 second lap sometime soon. Simon has now become the third GOD overall karter, and has moved into #2 in the World on NTSC after jumping in front of Sabbagh by an SR point!

Other NTSC activity included some fast PRs from Guillaume Sylvain, who has climbed up to King A overall! It was not only Guillaume who is well on the way to becoming a Legend overall really soon, but also Thomas Harrington. Luckily he got those PRs in on time, and after calculating his new SR with some of his great new times (including a 1'00" on MC1) he turned out to be a King B karter overall! So there we have two karters well close to the Legend mark! Dirk Olson is following not far behind with a lot of new records, nearly all of them good King times, with a few Legend. Dirk also made a good climb this week to King D overall! Kelly Malo is chipping his way through the SR points towards Jason Whalls in an attempt to make his name at #1 in U.S.A. He is as mentioned being followed by other U.S karters who will challenge him when the time comes, we will see how the new PRs go on NTSC till then.

There has been a little less activity on PAL this week but still some great records from Michael Jongerius as he reaches 1'01"78 on MC1, which is a super time! Roodhorst better watch out here because Jongerius looks ready to claim the top positions in the Netherlands! Mike Groels, also from the Netherlands has improved his powersliding skills, and still stuck to Toad for some races, but D.K.Jr for some others. Some nice new records and a Pro C overall standard is now his, and he has not only passed Zappara, but Corbett aswell! Thorsten Fellberg in Germany slowed down a little with PRs, but is still doing extremely well, and will keep the competition going between him and Björn Kühn (Champion of Germany). Archibald Lefevre sent in a magificent new record on VL2 lap!! It took 3 SR points off, go check out his profile.

NEW PICTURE IN THE PHOTO GALLERY

Guillaume Sylvain sent in his picture this week, and it has been added to the photo gallery page, so you can all check it out. If any of you have pics of yourself you would like to send in, you are welcome to.

PRS FOR THIS WEEK

Simon Laflamme cotinued his impressive WRs this week, improving on KB1 5-lap to 0'54"16! He went on to KB2, and is working on the fastlap, of which Louis-Philippe will be hard to reach, but has taken his 5-lap WR by a few hundredths to 1'00"87!! He also came fairly close on MC4, where there is still room for improvement, so we will see how things go there. Only one other NTSC karter this week, Kelly Malo made some nice GOD time improvements on CI2 and KB2, also getting close to the KB2 5-lap WR! Lots of room on the fastlap, Kelly is going for a cut down in SR points here, and may reach Legend D sooner than we think!

One Karter who has amazed us all this week is Dutch PAL Karter, Michael Jongerius. He has managed to make PRs on most courses for Flower, Star and Special cups, of which his times were mostly in the Legend standard! He has climbed to #10 on the PAL Players' List and landed right on 7.000 SR for a Legend G overall standard! What can I say? Look out Gerard Roodhorst! Other activity in the Netherlands include more PRs from Mike Groels who has now reached Pro B overall with more Pro and Master times sent in.

The next amazing thing this week was from Joakim Alderborn. The champion of Sweden has reached his biggest goal so far having been the 2nd karter to break 1'30"00 on BC1 for PAL, if his 1'29"96 time was not all, he has driven an insane lap record of 0'17"79, these had to be listed here, particularly the lap, which is very close to the WR!! His other PRs are also looking superb and he is now King D overall! He definitely looks as though he can reach the Legends if he continues to PR! Over in Australia, Andrew Kent has hit two Elite times for GV1 and VL2. He has taken 8 points down with these, and continues his way towards Ademir Cortes to take the #1 in Australia position!

Thorsten Fellberg has taken over the activity in Germany from Björn Kühn as he continues to hit many more PRs. He is finding it much harder to PR now, but has a very good chance of reaching Björn to become #1 in Germany. So far he has reached King G overall with his PRs. He has also been trying for a sub 1'02" on MC1, and will reach it soon! François Mangeol in France cut 32 points off his SR score this week! This includes times for DP1, BC1, CI1, BC2 and BC3. Check his profile to se what he has now. He is ranked at #26 on the PAL Players' List with an Elite A overall standard.
