Kim Cosens taught instrumental music for 20+ years. His bands earned numerous honors in the Midwest and nationally through the years. He graduated cum laude from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion in 1983 where he majored in secondary instrumental music education. His teaching experience included Director of Instrumental Music Studies for the high school band programs of Mitchell, SD, Spirit Lake, IA, North High School in Sioux City, IA, and Waseca, MN. Mr. Cosens was the Jazz Education Chair for the State of Minnesota for two years and served on the state music education board. Over the years he served as all-state host and is a member of many instrumental music honor societies and organizations. He has had well over 200 students selected for national ensembles, all-state ensembles and honor bands.

Mr. Cosens has served as a guest conductor and clinician and is a respected adjudicator in Jazz, Marching and Concert Bands as well as solo and ensemble contests throughout Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Kim has been an Investment Representative with Edward Jones in Owatonna, MN since 2002. Kim and his wife Shelly are the proud parents of three children; Candice, Joshua and Kyle. |
