The RBB performs 5-10+ times a year for school concerts, jazz festivals and other events and have backed such artists as Chris Vadala, Mike Tomaro, Denis DiBlasio, Mark Colby, Kirk Garrison, Doug Snapp, Steve Wright, Brent Sandy, Steve Houghton and Jim McKinney. They have also performed at the MMEA Convention. The RBB has appeared in concert at schools in Dassel-Cokato, Farmington, Janesville, Lamberton, Mankato Loyola, Mankato West, Minnesota State, New Richland, St. Francis, Shakopee, Triton, Waseca and Waterville among others. These are joint concerts with the school jazz band. The Real Big Band does not charge an appearance fee although some schools have made donations. They perform to help promote jazz as America's art form, to keep jazz alive, and to enjoy playing and sharing this great music!
