Billy Corgan: Man or something else??
Full name: William Patrick Corgan Jr.
Born March 17, 1967.
Somewhere outside of Chicago, early morning. March 17, 1967 a bright flash is seen coming from the sky. Too many witnesses, a cover up had to be made. March 18, 1967 channel two news reports a small plane crashed just outside the vicinety of Chicago, no survivors and the bodies have yet to be identified. No one questions this and daily life continues.

As a child it is verified that billy corgan did not fit in. Why was this? Was it because of the red birthmark that covers almost his entire left arm? What exactly is this birthmark? Is it a way of communicating? Was he rejected because he was an early bloomer or because of his height? Or was it because he's "different".

Who or what is billy corgan really? His childhood was trememdously difficult. He knew from the begining that he didnt fit in here, didnt belong. he was dimly aware of the presence of "another" but we'll get into that later. He wasn't ever told that he was found on the corgan's back porch in a strange smelling pod thing that glowed somewhat creepily. He wasnt told that the corgans were not his real parents. No one ever figured it was very important. His alienation increased once he reached school, in part due to the birthmark that covered his entire hand. He was very self-concious of it especially when it started to talk to him and and shoot lasers at people who teased him. When his "parents" divorced he kept being passed from relative to relative-no one wanted responsibility for such a strange boy. He settled with his father and his new step-mother and withdrew into his own head.
after his father and stepmother broke up he continued to live with her and care for his three siblings. One day he walked in on one of his friends playing guitar and he suddenly knew his calling. His arm shot out a laser, disintigrated his friend and he had himself and new guitar. For some reason, without lessons, and as soon as he picked it up, he could play it perfectly. As he played his arm told him of the plan to take over the world with music. not just any music, but good music that came from the soul. The arm called up a good friend, James iha and said the rest was up to billy. This is the story of the begining of the smashing pumpkins.
Does anyone have any idea why billy and james first played in Polish bars in the chicago area? Maybe it was the only way to break into society. Billy, being 'different' had to fool people into believing he was a normal, regular person who wasnt trying to take over the world. If he could fool those sharp polish peoples, he could fool anyone. When billy met james he was first intrigued because james made funny faces sometimes. Billy wanted to learn how to make funny faces too! he quickly caught on and decided to keep james around for amusement and to play guitar in his band. He would form a band and take over the world! Now he needed a bassist...
He met his bass player outside of a club in chicago and their first conversation was actually an argument over a band. He learned that her name was Darcy and that she played bass. He noticed his arm glowed a little when near her so he guessed she was the third. He asked her to join the band and she ran around the street hooting like and owl for almost two hours. billy had almost given up on her when she decided to have a "run into the pole the fastest" race with herself but surprisingly she didnt knock herself out and calmed down enough that billy could give her his number. The three members went around with a drum machine playing clubs. The drum machine absoultly terrified poor billy. "It makes strange sounds" He said. they had to put the machine far away from billy because he had the tendency to attack it in the middle of songs.
Why did billy decide to call the band the smashing pumpkins? In interviews he says it was a joke. But what kind of a joke. In actuallity it is an inside joke. Pumpkins on his home planet were almost like dogs on planet earth. They fetched and sat and played "scrabble". Pumpkins were consdered the species best friend, so great indeed that they were almost considered "smashing" maybe? The pumpkins never used the bathroom correctly though, they always forgot to put the toilet seat down. They also had a problem with the show "dragnet". But of course billy didnt know this so it was all subconsious. his arm only told him of world conquest. he still had no idea he wasnt human.
One morning he awoke to find his arm was gone! luckily it just went into the kitchen to make him breakfast but it really shook him up to see his arm detatched. His arm decided that it was doing nothing to help billys unstable mind so decided to not talk to him anymore. Billy always dismissed it as a childhood imaginary friend. (a very strange childhood imaginary friend.) Years of counsling never brought that subject to a close.
The next member of the band, Jimmy chamberlin, come into play now. this man is the devil. The devil likes to play drums and is very good at it. when he heard that a man(?) named Billy corgan was going to take over the world with music he decided he couldnt pass up this chance and joined the band. he called billy up on a cell phone and claimed he knew how to make a mean cheese log and that was all it took. chamberlin was the fourth man.
Billy and the pumpkins start to work on Gish. Some claim that Gish was named after silent film actress "lillian Gish" which is so very un-true. "Gish" is a growth on one's forearm that hears and see's everything. it was a hidden signal to billy to re-start his arm up, which he didnt know how to do anyway.
