Multiple Intelligences and Learning Styles |
Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University, put forth the theory of multiple intelligences in the 1980's. Dr. Gardner's theory sugguests that people learn in at least eight ways. 1. Linguistic intelligence or word smart 2. Logical-mathematical intelligence or number/reasoning smart 3. Spatial intelligence or picture smart 4. Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence or body smart 5. Musical intelligence or music smart 6. Interpersonal intelligence or people smart 7. Intrapersonal intelligence or self smart 8. Each student will be assigned at least one topic from the Leaning Strategies Menu. You are to read the information provided from the links on your topic. You will use Word to write a report on the learning strategies and create PowerPoint to accompany your oral presentation on those strategies. You will need to print out a copy of your PowerPoint "handouts" atleast one day prior to your oral presentation so we can make copies for all students. |
