I have lots of places that I like to visit on the net. Some I visit daily, others not so much. Like most people, I assume that since you've visited my page, we might have similar interests. So, in just such and eventuality, here are some pages I like that you might want to check out. I will try to have these links in some semblance of order, but no guarantees. :)
So yes, I admit it. This is basically my bookmark file on the web.

Remember to check out my RPG page and Online Comix pages.

First up on the Link-List, stuff about Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror & such, as these are my main interests after the RPG stuff.
Updated 4/11/02

A site dedicated to all things Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and Gaming with daily news, communications, and contests. These are the guys that used to be Zealot.Com, but when bosses went belly-up, they formed this cool site. Always fun, and be sure to check in for the Subspace updates.

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 - This place has news, behind the scenes, and a great overview of this fantastic Sci-Fi novel that made it to the screen. If you have any questions about the show, this place can usually provide the answers. It's one of the best things to appear on television.

The entire time J. Michael Straczynski was writing and producing Babylon 5, he read and responded to comments and questions about all kinds of things on AOL, Compuserve, Email, GEnie, Usenet, etc. JMS on Writing culls out of all those places the collected comments by JMS about the writing process.

Dragon*Con is America's Largest SF and Popular Arts Convention, and is my yearly vacation to wallow in my Geekness. A festival of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, Horror, Writing, Goth, Costumes and lots of Parties! They have a guest list with lots of links, and links to people's pics from the con. See my pics from the '01 con here.

The Hellbound Web - The online encyclopedia to the Hellraiser films, from the brain of Clive Barker.

I love this page. Here's the info, from their page.
Doll Sculpture can be a confusing term. When one thinks of a doll, one usually recalls childhood days playing with dolls as toys. The artwork in our gallery is far from that concept. They are mixed media sculpture: drawn, designed and dressed with a sculptor's dream and dexterity, a costume designer's agile wit and flair for detail. Each piece is created by vision and by hand. No two similar pieces exist. They are each one of a kind. If our most beloved paintings could talk, if they could breathe and move and walk boldly from their canvas, they would be doll sculpture. When you purchase art of this kind, you are inviting not only an object, but an experience into your home. They have eyes to see, fingers to touch. And many of them, if you invite them to share, have a story to tell.

The Eye of Sauron is Watching you!

Lord of the Rings.net is the home of the excellent LOTR films directed by Peter Jackson. All kinds of goodies are there. Wallpapers, Icons, behind the scenes stuff, and lots more.
The One Ring.net
is the best place on the web to go for  information about The Lord of the Rings novels, the films, and everything else about LOTR.  They have a great index of almost all the characters from Middle Earth.

Stan Winston is one of the masters of Special Effects. He created some of the best movie monsters of the last thirty years. The Alien Queen, The Predator, The Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, Pumpkinhead, The Terminator, General Seris from "Galaxy Quest", the Croc from "Lake Placid",  the Aliens from "Alien Nation," Edward Scissorhands, and many more.

He recently did a series of films with Cinemax called "Creature Features," which were all based on old Samuel Z. Arkoff films: Earth Vs. The Spider (My fave of the batch) The Day The World Ended, She-Creature, Teenage Caveman and How To Make A Monster.

From this, Mr. Winston has decided to get into the figure business, which Todd McFarline had been dominating for the last few years. And frankly, Stan's figures kick ASS! Very well done, sculpted by the people who designed the creatures for the films. He's also doing several series based on some original ideas of his own. Check them out (and buy them) at his web site.

And here are some links about Movies and other forms of Entertainment. Due to my tastes, there is some crossover with the above links. That's what you get when a Dao-Cordian tries to Organize crap, as opposed to embracing the Hodge-Podge.

Aint It Cool News is a huge website where you can find all kinds of movie news, reviews, online previews, and rumors. Harry (who runs the site) has been on Ebert & The Movies as a guest reviewer and is a true film fan, of all genres. He has a lot of industry insiders who feed him info and advanced copies of films. So he gets quite a lot of reliable advance info.

This is the online version of Cinescape magazine. While the print mag has always been a bit on the thin side for the money for my tastes, the online version is cool. It covers tv, film, novels and comics with daily news updates, some interviews and reviews and polls. I check it to keep up to date on genre news.

This is a decent web page with some news, reviews, etc, focusing on the Horror Flick genre. But the best reason to visit is the selection of available upcoming trailers. If you like Horror, give it a whirl.

Comics 2 Film is a daily-updated site about upcoming film projects based on comix and graphic novels. It also has reviews, polls and some fan-art of possible posters and actors as various characters. Most are cheezy, but it's worth going for the comix news.

Icebox.com has got a lot of original programs that would never even make it past the concept stage at any tv or movie studio. They're original, daring, and most push the limits of what most people find acceptable. Some make South Park look sedate. But there are some true gems in there. I have to support anyone willing to take a risk in the entertainment world. They recently became a pay site, but with a cost of only about a buck per episode, it's not too bad for the good stuff.

And if you like Animated shows, check out the ones at Screenblast.com! Joe Paradise, a very stylish "spy trying to retire thriller," Lenore the Living Dead Girl, and Kozik's Inferno a modern revisitation of Dante's Inferno, are my recommendations. It's free and fun!

Atom Films is a site dedicated to bringing to the world the best short films available. This is a great form of film making, and can really get to you in a way that a feature cannot. This site has a wide selection, including drama, romance, comedy, sci-fi, horror, animation, you name it. Some real fun is in seeing current stars in small films before they got their break.
Once you register (for free) you can rate and review films, select some favorites, see the top rated films, get access to more films, and get some cool stuff. They have them available to download, or view in Real or Quicktime formats.

Gaijin-a-go-go Is great place. It has all kinds of American stars in Japanese commercials. And these are celebrities that would never do a commercial in America because of their "integrity." This site blows that out of the water. Go see who's suddenly not to "big" to do commercials when there's enough Yen involved. The bonus is that we're not supposed to see them here in the USA.  I love the internet.

This is one of the best places to go to on the net for computer stuff. They cover everything from beginner tips, web design advice, how-to's, advanced techniques, tech news, auctions, tech job listings, an MP3 info page, several pages about all computer/platform games, a HUGE download site with almost everything (including games, drivers, demos, etc.) you can get online, and one of the best search engines on the net, making use of about eight search libraries. They have it all, even Mac stuff!. It's a must-visit site.

And here are some pages for some of the music I like. More coming soon.

Loreena McKennit's Official Web Page - One of the best musicians alive today. This site has lyrics, song samples, a store, tour info, etc. It's also graphics light so it loads fast. This lady is an incredible singer, songwriter and musician. Hopefully her crossover appeal will continue. She's also rumored to be in talks to do the music for the Lord of the Rings films. I hope this happens!

Tool Shed Down. This site aims to be the definitive Tool web resource, and it's got just about everything. Lyrics, videos, pics, tour info, chat areas, etc. If you're into Tool, go. And you can get to the official Tool site here.
Nocturnal Pleasures is one of the best sites dedicated to the master songwriter/composer Jim Steinman. You have heard his music, but might not know it. He's the man behind Meatloaf's good albums, the band Pandora's Box, the song "Original Sin" from the Shadow film sung by Taylor Dane, Bonnie Tyler's hits "Hero" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart", and Celine Dion's hit "It's All Coming Back To Me Now "
He is *the* master of Rock and Roll Opera. This site has articles, interviews, album info, song samples, new, lyrics...just about damn everything.

Here are some pages about challenging the conventional ways things are done, and Thinking For Yourself.

Bill Hicks was one of the few people to come along who could see though most of the BS that is going on in the world, get outraged about it, then proceed to expose it to the world in a way that was DAMN FUNNY. His humor could either be as precise as a scalpel or pound like a sledgehammer. He really could open eyes about what was going on in the world. He's been called one of the best social commentators and comedians ever. His untimely death from cancer robbed us all of a great visionary. (Wow, just realized how intense that was. Sorry.) Go to the official Bill Hicks site Dark Times and see for yourself how good he was. And go here to see the audio/video library.

Thought Crime is dedicated to fighting against the chains that the world tries to wrap around our minds. It has lots of links that will really make you pause and think about the way things are. It's divided into easy-to-navigate sections:
Work
- Heresiology - Psychology - Capitalism
Check it out, and click on the images for good sound bites.

Worried about the government? That it's becoming an oppressive state? Check out Political Corrections. This site is a bit extreme by my barometer, but it has lots of interesting quotes and ideas.

And then, there's the site that hosts the previous two above, Deoxy.org. I still haven't dug through all their stuff, but every page gives me something to consider. As a quote on their page says:
"A conceptual offering of philosophic technoshamanism, the site known as The Deoxyribonucleic Hyperdimension is the last wordon evolutionary ideas and knowledge." Wired Magazine

The Konformist has lots of great links and articles about fighting the social programming that is being sent at us. As they say on their site:
The following pages will more than likely contain stuff that will shock and offend you. They also, incidentally, have absolutely no socially redeeming value whatsoever. Enter at your own risk. And kiddies, check with your parents before entering, because there's a lot of lewd material in here that will almost certainly corrupt your values.

Disinformation is also dedicated to shedding the light of truth on the cluttered mess that is the world. They have weekly articles that take on the various events in the world and show you how they, and you, are being manipulated. And tell you how to do something about it.

The Onion is one of the best social satire sites on the web today. It's chock full of fake news items that manage to punch a hole in whatever issues happen to be going on. It can really show how too many things are taken too seriously these days by exaggerating the mundane the way the news exaggerates "real" news. I love it. And check out all the stuff in the weekly AV Club.

Ok, fair warning. Below are sites that deal with religion.
If you are not open-minded about this subject, and cannot stand the thought that there might be another religion than Christianity, do you and me a favor and don't visit them. It's just that simple. Nobody's forcing you to.
However, if you think that there might be something to any other religions, feel free to take a look at the alternatives.
And remember, if you respect my beliefs, I'll respect yours.

Religious Tolerance.org is one of the best sites on the net for an overview of all religions. And the best part is that they do their best to cover them without bias. They also have lots of links from each article, including ones that show where they got their research, which is more than some pages do.
They also do an excellent job covering the religious persecution that goes on. One of the few places that you can go to for an unbiased look at what the different beliefs are supposed to be about.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a must-visit site for a 50 year old organization that fights for Religious Liberty. I'll let them speak for them selves, from their general information page.

Separation of Church and State. The Constitution mandates it. Most Americans believe in it. But today it is under threat as never before. Since 1947, Americans United has worked to protect the constitutional principle of church-state separation, a vital cornerstone of religious liberty. Americans of many faiths and political viewpoints, individuals from all walks of life, have come together to defend freedoms.
Americans United for Separation of Church and State works actively on many fronts. Our forefathers fought, bled and died to keep us from a state church and a church state. We must continue to hold high the torch of liberty they have passed on to us.

The Happy Heretic is the page of Judith Hayes, who writes a monthly Atheist column on the web, and has published two books, so far. While I am not an Atheist, her articles are well written, informative, and give me lots of ammo to use against the Fundies I run into.

Truth Be Known by Acharya S is another great site that shows the interesting roots that Christianity might have come from. She has really good articles, well researched, well written, and usually humorous. She also has articles about politics, the world in general, other mystic phenomena, and is just good reading!
