College Years |
UCR First Year 2000-2001 - It was interesting to be on my own for the very first time, but a very cool experience. I learned alot about myself this year. Good and bad. I procrastinated too much and that hurt my grades, so I have to improve and force myself to study. I also get distracted easily so that can lead to the procrastination. I did learn a few good things about myself too. I learned that I had alot of self control when asked to go to frat parties ( I went to none in my first year) and also when asked to smoke. What was also interesting usual things that I thought most should know were hard for others. Like staying organized and doing laundry etc. All in all it was a pretty good year and I met a lot of knew friends. I began to bulk up at the gym and got stronger. Also, I ate too much of the gross cafeteria food and gained 35 pounds. I came in to UCR at 140 and left at 175 :-/ |
B4 West Lothian Dorms - My room Number was B409 and I stayed with Vivek Singh, an Hindu Indian from Thousand Oaks, California |
My B4 Hallmates - I would say that they are one of the most interesting halls of all. Most of them didnt know how to drive, including me. Also it was very diverse. Also did I mention that they liked to drink? |

Movie Filmed at UCR - I thought this was kinda neat. An independent film company called Little Fish Films came to film a movie at our school. It is called Going-Greek and I dont know when it is going to come out. Notable stars are Clarie Forlani (The Rock), Laura Harris (The Faculty), Simon Rex (MTV VJ) and Chris Owen (Guy from American Pie 1 and 2. UCR was also used for another Claire Forlani film. They used UCR's Science Library to portray a library at UC Berkeley in the movie Boys and Girls. |
Monte Carlo Dance - I thought it was kinda weak, but hey UCR threw a dance for us. Almost like a boring high school semi-formal. There were prizes given out. Apparently they ended it a little early becasue some drunks were let it and riled things up a little bit..Whatcha expect in college?? |
September 2000-June 2001 |
June 2001 - August 2002 |
2001-2002 School Year - Just a page of random photos from my second year in college. I had many new experiences in life. It includes my new apartment, chillin in places like Lake Tahoe with friends and just kicking back and relaxing, |
September 2002 - Present |
Monte Carlo 2002 - I met some new freshmen this year in my 3rd year in college and surprisingly enough they were from my hometown of Alameda, CA. Small world ain't it? Whats funny is they went to the same Middle School as me when I was there. LOL! I also met people from Moraga, Livermore, Santa Cruz and Oakland. Certiainly more than my freshman year...Ah, "The City By The Bay" NOR-CAL YOU ROCK!! |
UCR Second Year 2001-2002 - My second year was cool too :-) It was quite an experience living in an apartment. You learn about how responsible you are with food and what you can cook or what you cannot. I learned to cook and also try to budget my money buying food which was rare. I had to cook food for myself all the time. It was a learning year for me as was stuck on Academic Probation and Subject to Dismissal for the year. I got off during Spring Quarter and was very proud of myself. Now I just hope to stay off. I have learned from my mistakes and working for it never to happen again. As for sports, I played intramural football with some friends. The biggest memory was a playoff game. We were down by 5 points with 25 seconds left. Chris Rayasam, our quarterback threw a 40 yard perfect pass to Khanh Nguyen at the one yard line. With 8 seconds left, Chris threw to Alex Born for the touchdown and the 20-19 playoff win :-) I ended up staying in Riverside for the summer for schooling, but the classes did not go so well, so I left the Science Department and now giving at shot at Humanities |
UCR Third Year 2002-2003 - So far, so good this year at UC Riverside. On a positive note, since the end of my freshman year, I have lost 18 pounds. I am now at 157. I played a lot of basketball over the summer and left the weights on the bench. I want to get a little lower to maybe about 153 or so. Also just to tone down a bit. The stomach is a different story :-( No rock hard abs like my roomate Andrew....Anyways, I have met a lot people this year and went through some rough ordeals, but it has helped me grow up alot. As for friends, I have some new friends from Alameda. I met them at a party through my roomate Chris Rayasam. Amazingly, they were at the Middle School when I was. Its a very small world. As for the academia part, my first quarter has been great. I had an Acting class and it was fun. I think its helped me become a lot better speaker. More to come...Enjoy :-) 2nd Quarter - I initiated into the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. It took a while because of Fall Quarter complications, but I finally initiated. I felt like a lot of good things came from me this quarter. It was a lot of fun and enjoyable to be there. I have met a lot of people through the fraternity and through friends...Its been fun... |
Just Kickin' and Chillin' in Riverside - The title pretty much explains it all. Just having fun and chillin and kickin it in Riverside or "Ghettoside". So it was ghetto? So what, we got to chill with our friends and have a little fun while we were at it :-) |
Big Bear Mountain Ski Trip - My first ski trip since last year and it was more special for me because it was during a 3 day weekend which included my birthday!! Yahoooo!! It was fun...Also for the first time I skiied on man made snow...Heck it seemed real to me :-) |
Katipunan Filipino Culture Night - On April 12, 2003 at the California Theatre of Performing Arts in San Bernardino, California, the 14th Annual UCR Filipino Culture Night was held. My friend David and I went to go see one of our friends perfrom in it. It was an amazing night of dance and fun from the Filipino culture |
