| ~Cloak of Darkness~ Under cover of darkness in the middle of the night when some have to face themselves and all truths come to light For those who are in love the night holds only romance when the air is filled with magic and lovers complete the dance The lonely run to hide their pain and fears in sleep Knowing when morning comes their illusions they will try to keep For when love goes wrong night only magnifies the loss Long hours when sleep will not come reliving the emotional cost If death cuts short a loved ones life the night allows an escape we try to find them again in dreams as night covers us like a cape For some the night is soft and warm for others it's lonely and long As the night embraces each of us we move to the rhythm of our own song © Carole Mathys, 2004 Berne,Indiana |
