Flowers Dancing In The Breeze

Flowers dancing in the breeze tempting all the busy bees
A message offered sweet and free to the humble honey bee
In many ways I'm just the same ready to my love proclaim
Alas no Bees to play a part no nectar tempting to impart
No in this I need to act alone pick up the dreaded telephone
And sounding like I do not care talk to a Goddess young and fair
If only I could dance the breeze and send a taunting tempting tease
To win her heart with nectar sweet no more faint heart no more defeat
So dial the number imagine a rose and win her with some lofty prose
'tis easy thought not easy said the words are right here in my head
But courage doe's not come from Bees nor dancing gaily in the breeze
I steal myself to dialing tone and trembling hope she is at home
I clear my throat then a stupid sneeze her tender voice puts me at ease
'Oh I hear you're cold, poor dear' says she 'that explains a lot to me'
'You sound so awful on the phone no wonder you've been staying home'
'Take some honey, it's what you need it sooths you're throat and helps
you breathe'
She's out tonight with God knows who believing me to have the flu
Those lucky flowers don't need a phone to tempt a little honey home
As in the sun they bloom anew with no concern for me for you
The flowers know well that all they need,a little honey to help them
breed

Authors Comment = Not a love poem perhaps but love sick certainly
I once lost out to the flu and wonder if I lost more than just a first date.
