Lessons In The Sand
Those days of Refuge I will never forget
following in your footsteps
My bare feet walking over smooth sand getting so wet.
Treading behind or beside you in silent communication,
Never mind the so-called gap in our generation.

Sometimes you would stop and stare out at the sea,
that was where part of your heart would always be.
You drew pictures in the sand with your old walking stick,
for this little girl that was a wonderful trick!

We walked on and on, leaving endless footprints in the sand,
then climbed the rocks to more solid land,
Till we were back where we had started,
and you reached out for your Soulmates everwaiting hand.

From those days more was understood
from the silent meeting of our minds,
Then either of us knew,
Out of that era of Refuge my Spirit grew and grew!

Since the time that you passed from this world it would seem,
I have still heard your Soul speaking to mine
Thru many a Dream -
"I am Proud of you my little one - we'll be here for you when
your Life there is done."

Thank you for all you taught me
all those lessons on Life
while strolling down that beach,
I now know nothing is out of my Reach!
