James Norrington
Norrington considers himself a servant of the people first and foremost, never seeking personal glory, tempting as it may be.  Quite prude and cold on the outside, inside he is hiding a world of passions and a hot temper that will eventually overtake him completely.

James takes failures hard.  When things go wrong, it is his own fault and no one else's.  He will find solace in either correcting his mistakes or in a bottle of rum, depending on how dire the situation.  His repressed emotions, feelings of anger and hate, bubble to the surface when he closes control.  Otherwise, he remains collected.

Sometimes, though his failings are his own, Norrington will chose a particular entity to focus his blame and energy on.  This inevitably leads him to disaster.  There is nothing he detests quite like being at the mercy of a hated foe.
