Becoming a Wiccan... |
No conversion or recruitment is necessary. Wiccans have no insecure compulsion to convert everyone to their way of thinking. People come to Wicca when they're ready. Furthermore you are not required to accept or do anything you're not comfortable with. No artificial code of morality. Out of all the creatures on this earth, only humans are forced to live under unnatural moral codes. Wiccans believe simply, "An it harm none, do as you will." Progressive reincarnation. Wiccans believe we are here to learn and progress, not suffer eternal damnation if we "slip up" in someone else's eyes. No discrimination. You don't have to be the "right" race, color, gender, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin to be Wiccan; all are welcome. No middle man (or woman). Once you know the basics, you can be your own minister. You need never bow before (or rely on) some religious dictator for spiritual guidance, you go straight to the source. Be yourself. By sharing a common interest with others in Wicca, you do not lose your identity as an individual. You are unique and can and should stay that way without becoming a blob in homogeneous mass. No repression. Wiccans are not forbidden from reading, learning, eating, drinking, or saying anything. You can actually even disagree with something without being "excommunicated." Contribution. No, not money - knowledge. The Craft has always, and will always, be an experimental religion. If it works, we use it. Then share it so all in the Craft may benefit. No rigid dogma. Wiccans do not believe that their path is the only path. The only true path is the one that is best for you; and all paths are valid if they harm none. Ask yourself these questions and write them down in a journal. Be honest with yourself! No one else is going to read this. What needs are you feeling right now? Why do you want to be Wiccan? What do you feel you will gain by studying the Craft? What do you fear you will lose if you continue this path? How do you view the Divine (Gods/Higher Form)? What do you think it means to be a Witch? --Damiana Fae SilverCloud If you are looking for this to be your path or just looking for any path, it's always good to start to meditate as it is for just a healthy lifestyle. The more you meditate, the easier it is to handle things that might pop up in your life. During meditation, you can also look into yourself to find the true path for you or reach divine insight --Damiana Fae SilverCloud Please Note : There are many types of witches. Not all witches are Wiccan. However, all Wiccans are Witches. Yes, its confusing, but in time you'll understand. Witch is a very general term. There are many different types so I won't list them. However, a witch that is not Wiccan generally practices folk Magick ( Magick not involving the Goddess & God ). My craft is of Wicca, so that is why this page is about Wicca. If you don't want to be Wiccan, I advise you to search for a correct path for yourself. As long as your happy, and harm none, then more power to you ! How To Become A Wiccan...
