I'm from "North-Central" Jersey...not to far from the big-hot-smelly-broke island of Manhattan, which is where I do a lot of my work. By day, I am a freelance sign language interpreter in the NYC Metro area. By night...I'm still a sign language interpreter. (Except on Tuesdays. Tuesday nights I'm a wild, bar-going, tie-dyed alto with the Celebration Singers!)
In 2004, I graduated from a in college in the Middle of Nowhere, Pennsyltucky. I miss it. I loved it out there...but I love the NYC/NJ area even more...so I don't think I'll ever permanently inhabit the Middle of Nowhere. (I'll just go back every other weekend to visit.) My major during those 4 yrs was Interpreting for the Deaf & hard of hearing, & I had a minor in English (linguistics/poetry, mostly). Once upon a time, I also worked at a swim camp for little kids at my local pool.
