Tyler's performance as Nikolas Cassadine led to an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Lead Actor in 1998. Tyler also won as Outstanding Newcomer at the nationally televised Soap Opera Digest Awards and Best Newcomer at the Soap Opera Update Awards. He was named one of the 12 Hottest Daytime Stars by TV Guide in June, 1998. Tyler has also been recognized by his native community, receiving awards for Outstanding Performer in a Television Series in 1997 and 1998 from the First Americans in the Arts. He recently completed the independent film, Catfish in Black Bean Sauce, starring with Paul Winfield and Lauren Tom, which is slated to be released in the summer of 1999. Born and raised in America's heartland, Tyler Christopher grew up in Delaware, Ohio, the youngest of four children. Following graduation from high school, Tyler attended Ohio Wesleyan University for two years before heading to California in hopes of pursuing an acting career. Although his initial effort proved to be a false start, he returned to Hollywood in 1995 and set his sights in earnest, doing the requisite rounds of auditions. His hard work and perseverance paid off, as he landed the part of Laura Spencer's son on ABC Daytime's longest-running drama. Although life on the set keeps Tyler busy, he still finds time to work out regularly and enjoys traveling. Tyler currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
