Another World: One Year Later!
from Soap Opera Digest (June 27, 2000)
Jensen Buchanan was thrilled to be part of an ANOTHER WORLD anniversary cover. "I think it's the nicest tribute to a great show," she enthuses. "To me, it just shows that Soap Opera Digest really listens to and cares about their readers and ANOTHER WORLD fans."
Speaking of the fans, Buchanan isn't surprised by viewers who remain determined to bring AW back to life. "It's not news to me," she smiles. "ANOTHER WORLD fans are the most loyal and steadfast group of people. It makes you feel like the years you spent doing your job were worth something."
After AW's cancellation, Buchanan sold her Vermont home and moved her family to California. "I've been pretty much working on my personal life and enjoying it immensely," she smiles. "As far as my [acting] career - I'm on pause right now. I just wanted to make sure that my kids are settled into our new lifestyle and feeling secure."
Though Buchanan laments the fact that she hasn't seen much of her Bay City buddies since the AW cast scattered, many of her former co-stars got a glimpse of her new lifestyle after the
Soap Opera Digest Awards in March, when she threw a party. "It was like an ANOTHER WORLD reunion," says Buchanan. "Linda Dano [ex-Felicia; Rae, ONE LIFE TO LIVE] came, as well as Charles Keating [ex-Carl], David Hedison [ex-Spencer], Kim Rhodes [ex-Cindy], Nadine Stenovitch [ex-Josie], and Alice Barrett [Mitchell, ex-Frankie, ex-Anne]. Noticeably missing was Tom Eplin [Jake]. He couldn't get away from AS THE WORLD TURNS."
Although Buchanan made several appearances on ATWT last year as Vicky - who is now presumed dead - she rules out a return to Oakdale. "That's one thing I can say 'no way' to," she declares. "I really like living in California and I'd only go back to New York kicking and screaming."
