Some Things In Common

Do you ever think that Claudine, Judy Ann and Jolina have some things in common? Well we do! And boy they are plenty! Read on and if you think we missed something, tell us about it...

• RICO YAN as a loveteam - YES! Rico had these three girls for a loveteam... First, it was Jolina and Rico in the movie Ama, Ina, Anak and then Claudine in several films: Home Along Da Riles, Madrasta, Flames the Movie, Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita and Mula Sa Puso (Star Cinema's third highest grossing movie) and the telenovelas Mula Sa Puso and Saan Ka Man Naroroon... Judy Ann starred with Rico in two very successful movies, Paano ang Puso Ko? and Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (dubbed as one of the most romantic Filipino films) and in the (long-running) series Mara Clara.
• ABS-CBN - The three girls are the hottest young stars of the hottest network this side of the world. Both Jolina and Claudine started their careers in Ang TV while Judy Ann had her most successful TV show in this network (she used to be a host in That's Entertainment of GMA-7). Thanks to ABS-CBN they are now on top of their careers.
• Telenovelas - Owe it to Marimar... these three girls starred in their very own telenovelas via Mara Clara and Esperanza for Judy Ann, Mula Sa Puso and Saan Ka Man Naroroon for Claudine and the newest and most entertaining Labs Ko Si Babe for Jolina.
• Young Versions - The three ladies are considered young versions of the reigning movie queens of Philippine showbusiness. Judy Ann is the Young Superstar (Nora Aunor), Claudine is the Young Star for all Seasons (Vilma Santos) and Jolina, the Young Diamond Star (Maricel Soriano)... Although many think that Jolina is more appropriate as the Young Megastar.
• Music - What do we mean by this? If you've watched Ang TV before, you've noticed that Claudine and Jolina sings in that show. Jolina is a certified concert and recording artist, Claudine portrays a singer (Rosario) in her telenovela while Judy Ann had polished her own album (wonder why?). So these three girls are all inclined to music, not necessarily gifted though.
• Acting Nominations - Yes, these girls had acting nominations in their sleeves. Judy Ann was nominated Best Actress in last year's (1998) Metro Manila Film Festival and also as Best Drama Actress in the 1998 PMPC Star Awards for TV and another one for the 1999 FAMAS Awards. Jolina was nominated as Best Supporting Actress in the 1998 Metro Manila Film Festival, Best Single Performance by an Actress in the 1998 PMPC Star Awards for TV, and another in either FAMAS or FAP awards. Claudine had yet to be nominated in a Filipino award giving body...but she has been nominated for an international award and that's the Best Actress in Asian TV Awards. Top that?!
• GIMIK: The TV Show - Jolina and Judy Ann used to be regulars on this highly rated TV show. Although Judy Ann was an original member and Jolina later on joined the show. Claudine appeared as a guest twice!
