“REBETIKO REPUBLIK”

A 70-minute concert, followed by a late Jam Session and Dance Party. Bar and snacks.

The concert will be preceded by a seminar at 6.30pm.

At this event we shall be performing a batch of really interesting songs
that we have been working on. This is part of a rolling programme of events
leading up to the Band's tour to Istanbul, Athens and Hydra in October 2009.

In the light of the tragic events of the past week in Greece, our plan is
that the final part of the evening will create a musical space in which we
can reflect on these recent events, and maybe sing a few songs that are
appropriate to the moment.

We shall start the evening with “To gelasto paidhi”, in memory of Alexandros

Grigoropoulos, the young lad who was shot by police in Athens on Saturday 6 December.
