The little master of world soccer, Aaron Boo was on top of his game for 29 years without ever looking old or “past it”. Boo has both French and Jamaican blood, but grew up in Paris and joined the PSG squad in 1971, aged 17. He debuted for the top side in 1972, and by 1973 was a regular in the starting line-up. During the 1973-74 season he scored 32 goals in 35 league matches, and made his international debut off the bench against Tunisia that year.

From 1975-1980 he was a regular for France and his new club Olympique Marseille. A new chapter in Boo’s career began in 1980 when he joined Coventry for a foray into England that would last 20 years. By 1987 Boo was disenchanted with French soccer, which started to drop him in favour of younger players. He took three years off international soccer in which time he received an invitation to play for Jamaica in 1990.

Many questioned how effective the 36 year old would be. However, Boo committed himself to Jamaica, always making himself available for internationals at the expense of Coventry who were happy to have him even if for only half the season. Boo played 105 games for Jamaica, scoring 53 goals, and led them to the top of world football. He signed off emphatically, his last touch of the ball a classy extra-time winner in the Bledisloe Cup decider against Greece. “ The little master “ received a lifetime award from FIFA in 2000.
