The one thing I love about the coast is that it is ever changing. No matter how often I go there, it is never the same. One day, it ill be calm and serene, the next time it will be wild with waves pounding the shore. I never know what to expect...except that I know I will always love it. The coast is where I go when I need to recharge my batteries. It is where I go to think, to be calm, and to become human once again.
Something that is amazing about the Oregon coast is that you can drive just a few short miles and the coastline is completely different. For example...one place will have a sandy beach...a couple of miles down the road it is rocky and the waves are smashing against the rocks. Water has always been very relaxing to me, and I have always felt a need to be near it.
When I go to the coast, I stay at a motel that is made of nothing but condos. Each condo is about l00 feet above the beach and has sliding glass doors out on a deck. I can spend hours there just looking at and listening to "my ocean".
Up the coast is the town of Tillimook. Yes, Where the cheese is made. A trip to the coast would not be complete without going there. It is a beautiful and scenic drive. And of course I have to buy some smoked cheddar cheese while I am there!! mmmmmm
