Bargello Butterfly

I attended the Fort Worden Kitemakers Conference in March 2002 and this is the result of the workshop taught by John Freeman.

John specializes in Bargello. It is a quilting technique, but it lends itself well to making beautiful kites. The Bargello Noodle is another one of John's designs (Fort Worden 2001).

The butterfly is about 5 feet across with a 25 foot loop tail. Due to the number of seams and the slightly complex frame it's not the lightest of kites. It is bridled like a Genki.
