A school for seafarers...
  ...but not only for seafarers.

The Nautical Institute does not only provide professional
qualifications to "those young people considering a career at sea"
but above all it is a modern school offering a sound
technical-scientific preparation, allowing admission to all
University Faculties, and good working opportunities in many
   industrial fields.
Moreover the Nautical Institute represents the privileged
   pathaway to the Navy Academy.

In 1991 our Institute implemented the
Nautilus Project; focusing on the study of
languages, economics and mathematics it has
made academic studies easier to follow.
Besides, what is entirely new is a two-year
course for students considering a career
       at sea.
It will be the Institute itself to supply
all the necessary professional and didactic
support to obtain the 3rd Officer
       Certificate of Competency.

Every year a training cruise for the 5th grade students
is a chance for fieldwork. Day cruises on Navy
vessels, visits to vessels ashore and shipyards,
workshops, lectures on social and sea problems
give further opportunities of practical training.
The Nautical Institutes' Sailing Trophy represents a
  great challenge.
