I'm Down(Lennon/McCartney)

As performed by Aerosmith on "Permanent Vacation"

It sounds like one guitar plays straight barre chords
and the other plays them in this fashion:
   E----------------------------------------|
   B----------------------------------------|
   G----------------------------------------|
   D--------------------------5--7--5--7--5-|
   A--5--7--5--7--5--7--5--7--3--3--3--3--3-|
   E--3--3--3--3--3--3--3--3----------------| etc...

   E--3----------|
   B--3----------|
   G--4---5---7--|
   D--5---5---7--|
   A--5---3---5--|
   E--3----------|
      G  C5  D5

                                          G
   You tellin lies thinking I can't see

   You can't cry 'cos you're laughing at me
        C5
   I'm  down(I'm really down)
        G5
   I'm  down(down on the ground)
        C5
   I'm  down(I'm really down)
   C5   /   /   G5
   How can you laugh when you know I'm down

   How can you laugh when you know I'm down

   D-5--------------3---------|-----------5-|

   E-----3------------------3-|-----1b-r--3-|

The chord progression for the next verse is the same as
above. During the piano solo the chord progression is
G-C-G-D-C-G(etc...)

I transcribed this directly from the cd without using
the Beatles version as a reference. The Beatles version
sounds very similar, though, and there's a professional
transcription for it. If you want to check it out
it's included in "The Beatles Complete Scores" from Hal
Leonard(By the way, if you're a big Beatles fan like I
am, this book is a "must have" anyway). You can get it
from Music Dispatch(the number is in the "professional
transcription" section of this page) for about $60.

Symbols used in transcription:
\ = slide
b = bend
r = release
h = hammer-on
p = pull-off
