Cruel Eyes
Dreamily,
I set sail
upon a ship
that was never there
We left from a beach
of white frozen sand
journeying upon oceans
without any land
Crimson red was the sky
the sun exploded
and left us to die
We vacated our bodies
so we could better survive
and found ourselves
sinking below a purple gold tide
Strange creatures
swam by
with leery grins
I felt a strange sense of legitimization
like I’d found my lost twin
Then the sea simply vanished
in a blink of an eye
and I found myself sliding
toward the other side
My life flashed before me
like the best amusement park ride
If this held some truth
then all else was a lie
My memories became
like some lost dream
and I felt my past
drifting away from me
Nothing...
is ever what it seems
but inside it felt like...
I was becoming some new type
of being
Like a warm summer breeze
it washed over me
I underwent a form of metempsychosis
and crawled out from a brand new sea
Here I am amongst you
just like before
but now I observe with cruel eyes
as I slither across
your basement floor
And I know where you’ve gone
I’ve seen where you’ve been
I know all those deep dark secrets
you hide within
