Nostalgia

Nostalgia is always far superior
To what ever actually transpired
Within its artificial light
Our fondest memories mingle
with our greatest desires

A dreaming mind displays
The purest of hearts
Winds of change disappear
Over magnificence fields
of purple flowers

Clouds evaporate
into a tiny rain drops
Falling softly, gently
Upon a parch, dry earth
Awaking the new buds of Spring

Nostalgia flows over us
like a cool, radiant mountain stream
Cleansing us of all the grunge and grime
That use to be

It dissolves our deadly sins
of yesteryear

Nostalgia makes everything
better then it ever was
Perhaps it just shows us how things
could have been

Should have been?

But we can’t get back
What was never even there
