Homage a Lizzy Mercier Descloux

Lizzy Mercier Descloux passed away at 5:30 Am, April 20,2004 following a year-long battle with cancer.
According to her wishes, she was cremated and her ashes scattered in the Mediterranean.

25 Mars, 2006

Ze Records has announced a reissue schedule for the complete catalog of Lizzy Mercier Descloux.
This is a bittersweet delight, two years after her passing.
Somewhere in September this will include a 'lost album'.
If this is material I heard on a cassette, you are all in for a treat of the first order.

20 Avril, 2005
Sebastien asked me to share a few thoughts on this first anniversary
It is hard for me to believe a year has elapsed since Lizzy's passing.
Though I had only the slightest contact with her: a few emails and a cassette, the loss seems all the greater. Lizzy was a marvelous person who spread joy and magic throughout her too short life.
I genuinely get the sense that everyone whao had any contact with her was much the richer for it.
I hope that when my time is finished I could leave just one person so enriched
Cher Lizzy, we miss you and you are in all our hearts forever.

I am looking for the CD of Mambo Nassau and Lizzy Mercier Descloux (CBS) and will arrange payment if anyone can help.
I have from time to time found vinyl versions of all these albums around Chicago, and like to exchange music with others.

Other Lizzy Sightings and Notes
The notes for Suspense refer a novel "Buenaventurra," which I have never seen.
A fellow named Rob sent me a copy of a 1978 book titled DESIDERATA...
it has about 20 poems by lizzy, some drawings and photos, a preface by patti smith and a piece by richard hell
One day if I ever get a scanner, I will share.
Lizzy sings on one song recorded in 1982 on a Brion Gysin retrospective/tribute by Ramuntcho Matta (Made to Measure 33 - 1993).
There are other, possibly more interesting songs in this collection.
Lizzy is a contributer on one song from the 1996 PG2M AngelsUs CD Sun is Shining
also:
Lizzy reads a poem by Arthur Rimbaud en Francais in a Bill Laswell project Hashisheen (highly recommended)"
Patti Smith reads the same poem in English
early information courtesy of Dan Wiitworth
A couple drawings of Lizzy done by Patti may be found here
Complete musician credits for Press Color thanks to Rob van Wijngaarden who is compiling a complete list of Ze Records
Good Luck Rob
