the beginning....well sort of

well these pages came into existence when i remembered i had some webspace on geocities ,which isnt a bad thing in itself, it just proved useful.

well it meant that i had something to do on a tuesday evening while i was doing technical support (looking after a room full of computers, while people who were learning how to create corporate [read ballooning] websites while there ( in other words - reboot them when they froze). hence this site came into being.

webpages are also like feet - they can be awfully cheesy at times!

my original pages.....

had been put as it were into cold storage on the geocities server, and although they were designed as long ago as 1996, i felt that they were out of date, not to mention i've got better at this web stuff . in the meanwhile i'd put up a page about this site being redesigned. still reading ? oh good, then i'll continue, after i'd created the first template and back ground, i found i needed to actually add content and navigation, (and yes strangely enough, me rambling like this counts as content) so thats why all this text is here. however the basic idea was to create and prototype a series of templates for a real site i am developing. the banners and other stuff were just a way of showing that once you had a basic template, you could do anything with it. oh the joy of tuesday.

basically the whole site uses one template, for which the background and navigation can be easily changed, although to make life simplier you could put the navigational element into a table, as the text navigation below has been implemented. the template can be modified to suit any purpose. dressing it up, ie banners etc, is of course purely a matter of taste. what i've done here, would be condemned by many designers, but then at the end of the day, it's you who decides what your page finally looks like. i'm just giving you this template for free
