===== Thoughts: Today my country lost an electronics aircraft near North Korea. First heard this news item this mornig while sitting in car. It was at Huntley-Brinkley that I finally reallized for sure what had happened. -- another Peblo. I must be either getting tougher or losing concern since the event took so long to sink into my mind (soul). I wrote the leter to President Nixon las night -- 'Uncle Sam needs to get tough -- all around and soon!' -- another coincidence of my makeing. Maybe this time - if the North koreans really shot the aircraft down, President Nixon will tell Uncle Sam to get tough -- I do hope so, even though it could be The War. I am ready to risk everything; I am tired of my coutnry being abused by the sucm of this earth. While I was driving through the rain, I thought again -- daydreamed -- how great it would be if I had Complex 67 and the System in operation. I do wish something big would happen. =====

3:35 to 5:50 went to {unreadable} waited for drill, march to CG field, Col Marteen present awards to Vietnam men, congradulated Brigade (for those who came but did not have to) drilled with Bat Guards march to QM. Last Drill.
5:50 to 6:00 changed, walked to car carrying uniform, saw June, even she doesnt want to know me.

7:30 to 8:40 Listen to lecture with Dad, given by Art Linkletter. He talked about Influence of Television!

9:30 to 9:45 spoke with Sgt Major, waited, went to Colonel Maertin's office- reported, spoke with Colonel Maerteen. He wishedme luck in life. I told him I enjoyed being a cadet under his command.

8:15 to 10:30 Attended Tennessee Ernie Ford Show with the Borthers and Sister, Prof Backwards. It was a great show. I was really moved by the feeling of envolvement of being a part of the audience. There is really nothing more thrilling than to see and be a part and be close to such a great man. The young people in the show eere great too like Up With People, even a youth in the Orchesta. I would really like to get his autograph and be extra close to him, but that would be too much luck to ask for. Art Linkletter, Tennesse Ernie Ford and the political people I have been close too lately. It is hard to say what it all means. Perhaps the sunlight before the End. The auditorium seats are empty except for me. I wonder why they were not filled to capacity. After the show the stage is cleared --- no evidence of their presence except for the memories that one vaguely keeps after a periof of years. The empty chairs, the empty empty chairs! The experience is one side for both he and I --- I felt envoled as an individual with him, but he was envolved with the audience as a whole. He will remember Greenville and I will remember the experience. The young people in the show are the onew who really have the experiences to remember. I must assume now that it is time to go -- not the last but alone I go. At five till eleven I find myself walking down to the back by the north corridor, near the audio back stage.
