ALWAYS IN TRANSIT

Should I go -- should I stay ?
Think it's better somewhere else.
Never happy where you're at,
Always living life in transit.

Main street Pickens, downtown Greenville,
Easley parking, Clemson campus,
Fall Creek rocks, Whitewater Falls,
Only thoughts of where you're not.

The miles and time, 'twixt and 'tween
Make up this lonely transit life.
Always hoping there's a woman,
When you get to where you're not.

Life's traffic you meet along the way
Seems so full of two's and four's
The one's you see are on their way
To be two's and four's and more.

Never one like yourself.
There's only one, you know.
Mile after mile you drive,
Trying to get to where you're not.

Cruising East and West or North and South
Whichever way Life's main drag goes.
Those are the places your life is spent,
Watching others live their life
In the places where you're not.

The latest cruising armor you drove,
When you started down life's road.
Now you see life's youth
Driving your classic cruisers.

Kids, they are,
Discovering the things you never found.
That's what hurts and kills.
Deep down you know the truth now.

You started out in transit life,
Chasing that make believe perfect youth.
Missing out on real world life,
Trying to be where you could never get.

So now you spend your days

Getting from place to place.

To make sure that they find

The things of life where they're at.
