    Hello, and welcome to 'The Great Gatsby', a site about the classic by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It's a really good novel and isn't really like a classic. The book takes place in the 1920's which was known as the Roaring Twenties. It was known as the Roaring Twenties because during that period in history the economy was "through the roof" and people were partying all the time. There was a ban on the producing and sale of intoxicating liquor [i.e., alcohol] and there was also a lot of organized crime going on.

    Mr. Chaffin, I hope you enjoy this because I worked REALLY hard on this and it was a lot of fun to do so hopefully *crossed fingeres* you'll like it. Also, don't edit grammer and stuff, please! I was very paranoid while I was making this site because you'd take off points for forgeting to put a period or something!
