Metaphors Are Weak

Watch the emotional exchange
of predator and prey
on the New York Stock Exchange.

That's you and me up there
on the big screen
waging war
for all to see.
(I don't know what it's for)

I thought you were somebody else.

I'm burning to reveal
but metaphors are weak expressions, at best
for what I'd want to convey.

(so why use them?)

For beneath this lust is sacred stardust
where you and I are not so far apart ...

But metaphors are weak you know,
(I know)
They don't reveal what we'd want to know.

(to be continued)
