THE OLD HAG
By mixing pickups and pre-set tone settings it is possible to achieve 21 different "voices", making the CORVETTE the perfect guitar for lead work across sound styles ranging from 50's country to modern jazz and classic delta blues.  Through a tube-amp...ain't nuthin better.
Welcome to the WARREN PEACE website.  It's whimsy, whiffle, and homemade music, and represents the current incarnation of the Warren Peace String Band.  The band began in a little college ghetto in Monmouth, Oregon in 1978, comprised of Michael Tenney on banjo (5-string), bass, and various guitars; Daniel Emerson Hill on mandolin, banjo (tenor), bass, and esoterica, and Larry Milner on guitar and bass.  All personnel vocalized to varying degrees, including whistles and scat.  We were joined periodically by various friends who brought their talents and instruments, including Jon "Birdman"Janosik on electric dulcimer, Rocky "Zed" Leplin on blues harp, and Digby "Are You Still Here?" Morrow on chaos and discord. The band played taverns, clubs, the Monmouth 4th of July parade (on their own float), appeared in concert at the Western Oregon State University Fine Arts Auditorium, and finally imploded as the members moved on into real life in the pursuit of regular meals and living indoors. Warren Peace was more than a band...it was a dream that came true because of the quality of love for music brought to the party by its members.
The dream lived only for the music, and the music lives for the dreamers.
This page is dedicated to the spirit of music, and to the memory of old guitars, grown more and more precious in their aging and sweetening.  Thanks to Bugs Henderson for  waking the dream in me again, and to Kwinn Kastrosky for reminding me what a superb instrument was made by Albin Hagstrom of Alvdalen, Sweden when he made my 1965 Corvette. But always remember, as Bugs says,  "You can't buy that thing you want; it's living inside you. You can spend all your money buying all those fancy tricks,  but it ain't the rig that matters...
IT'S THE MAN BEHIND THE PICK!"
