Other Adventures . . .
25 November 2005:
Richard at approximately 15,450 feet on
Iztaccihuatl with Popocatepetl, an active volcano, in the background, to the south.  Popocatepetl, at 17,887 feet (5452 meters), is the second highest peak in Mexico and the fifth highest in North America.  Iztaccihuatl, at 17,159 feet (5230 meters), is the third highest in Mexico/sixth in North America.  We didn't have time to reach the summit, unfortunately, but we made it to 15,513 feet.
As seen from Mexico City (left) with the sun rising behind it, and from our starting point at 13,000 feet at the southern end looking northeast (right).
March 25 and April 1 - Volcan Ajusco
The trail is beautiful, winding through pine forest at the bottom and emerging into grass and rock.
1 April:  At the highest point, "La Cruz de Marquesa," at 3986 mt (13077 ft).  "El Pico de Aguila" is in the background.
25 March:  At the 2nd highest point, "El Pico de Aguila," at 3930 mt (12890 ft).  That's Alan on the left, whom we met up there and chatted with for a while; it was his 100th time there!  Notice the snow.
