John & Maura's Trip to Ireland

From September 30 to October 29, 1997, John and I trekked across Ireland, racking up 1,600 miles on our car and learning the tricks of B&B lodging.

While the dramatic Dingle Penninsula, medieval Galway, culture-rich Dublin and the soft south charmed us, when we think of Ireland, we remember Ireland through our hearts, which we left with Jimmy and Maggie O'Malley and their family in Co. Mayo, the homeland of John's grandmother, Bridget Granahan Kelly.

They'll take a few minutes to load, but the pictures of our trip say a thousand words.
