PENNSYL-ZONA
A Journal of Two Northeasterners Going West
This page was created to keep family and friends updated on our progress with establishing our new home in Arizona...and for anyone else who happens upon it that might be interested in our "radical" move from suburban Pennsylvania to the rural desert of Arizona.

We first got a desire to move to the Southwest in 1996 on our honeymoon to Las Vegas and various destinations in Arizona. I remember standing in the terminal of Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix waiting to board our flight back to Philadelphia and feeling like I never wanted to leave Arizona.

It was seven years later, 2003, that we came back to Arizona to stay. It was by no means an easy choice or an easy journey. Sometimes we thought it was a just a silly dream of ours and that we'd settle into a way of life in Pennsylvania and someday down the road ponder what it would have been like had we went West. Somehow we couldn't live with that question for the rest of our lives, so we made the comittment with one another to move West and give it a go in a whole new environment.

So we got rid of most of our posessions, sold our condo, packed up our cats and our remaining posessions into our Suburban, which we bought in Maine just for our move (that's another story), and a 6' x 12' U-Haul trailer and headed for Las Vegas to stay with Rob's uncle while we looked to get established.

This page will continue to be updated with photos, information and links as we make progress in our new surroundings.
