"An Eternal Friend"

There once was a time I did not know where to turn
Watched my heart continue to break, and thought when will I ever learn
Wishing for an eternal friend-like a flame that would forever burn.
Then suddenly you came to me
Someone so familiar and yet a total mystery
And it only took me a moment to see
Someone to cherish-you will always be
How was I to know it'd be you who would set my soul free.
Now every day seems new and bright
Every single moment with you makes my heart feel free and light
You showed me what a wonderful place this world can be, and to treasure each
and every sight.
Now today everything is clear
As long as I can reach out and find you near
My life will never be dark and I will have nothing to fear.
