Last Surrender
A cold chill in the air
Stars flutter in their death throes
I look to see no path before me
Eyes blinded as my pain overflows
All that I was now cast aside

  Chains dangle noisily
Free to drag behind me as I stumble
My anchor gone now adrift forever
All sense of me begins to crumble
My heart has nowhere to hide

My bruised soul in tatters
Bleeding love away in scarlet tears
This slave torn from all she knows
Miscarriage of blind devotion to fear
A sweet surrender has died

Locked within a dead heart
A flame of quiet hope slowly reignites
Flickering warmth stealing the coldness
Desperate lonliness concealing the light
Yet hope remains burning inside
