Race: Half-Elven
Class: Bard/Mage (Red Robes)
Age: 21
Appearance: Aric has light blonde hair and heavily lashed blue eyes that immediately strike onlookers by their mischievous intelligence. Although Aric is half elven, his ears are rounded, making him appear mostly human. The only traces of his elven are his slightly almond shaped eyes, and the slight sharpness of his features. When not wearing red robes, Aric can always be found in the most up to trend fashions of the day.

Background: Alaric Kendall was born the youngest son of a wealthy Palanthian family. Loved and spoiled, he was neither the eldest son who would, by primogenitor, inherit the family fortune, nor the middle, who would become a wealthy merchant. In fact, after his elder brothers human mother had died, his father had fallen in love with, and married an elven woman, and he had been the result. The woman had been raised by a human family, and as was so rare in any human society, fully accepted, and loved even by her two step sons.
Aric was, as a young noble, taught the
culture, mannerisms, and tastes of his class. As his parents had aspirations that he
become a knight, they begun his training in weaponry early. However, from a young age,
Aric had an aptitude for the Art, and an interest that he did not at all show in warfare,
and so, was sent by doting but practical parents to a school in the city. There, the child
excelled, but when his training was through at 12, he announced to his parents that it was
a musician, NOT a mage, which he wished to be. Frustrated, yet still doting, his family
indulged the childs wishes once again, and surrounded him by the finest masters, who
praised his slender, dexterous hands and rich tenor voice. The last master his parents
hired, a traveling bard, intrigued the young man, and at 17, he chose that as his final
profession choice, and much to the despair of his parents, left home with the bard with
whom he'd fallen in love. He traveled for some time with the woman, but while she doted on
the boy, she was far older and did not 'love' him as he did her. Realizing her folly, she
sent him home. But he refused to go. She left him in the forest as he slept the next
night, and when he awoke the next morning, and he knew not what to do. He had the wealth
of his family still, but he was now alone for the first time in his life. He could not
bare to practice his music on this journey, and so, he turned once more to Magic as his
distraction. His distraction became obsession as the of this long forgotten passion
reawoke in him, and as he returned home to reconcile with his family, he announced his
plans to journey to Solace to find a master.
Since his arrival in Solace, Alaric has been apprenticed to the Lady Catherine, and befriended the wizard Paige. Aric has, still, a love for music, and practices it as frequently as his Art. His heart still aches for the bardic woman who left him behind.
