Age: 21
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 165 lb..
Hair: Brown

Appearance:
Lucius is handsome, slim, and athletic, although not really
muscular. His frame speaks of the study to which he devotes himself as
well as of the long runs which he enjoys. While he wears his well-made white robes,
blue pants and tunic with a careless disregard for fashion, the
pouches containing his spell components are very well-kept. His
toussled shoulder-length brown hair and bare face make him look even
younger than he is, a quality which has ended the journeys of many foes.
Weapons:
Dagger, Quarterstaff (ingeniously crafted with a continual light spell
so as to provide a concealable light source)
Magical Items:
Ring of Shielding (30 charges)
Other Items:
Spell book, Spell Components, Quill, Ink, Parchment (30 sheets),
Clothing, Riding Horse, Hemp Rope (50 feet)
Languages:
Solamnic, Common, Magic, Ogre, Qualinesti, Goblin, Dwarven
History:
As the only sons of a carpenter, Lucius and his younger brother
learned at an early age to enjoy physical activities and the outdoors. He had
always scorned the image of the sickly mage. In fact Lucas' earliest
memories are of playing "Catch the Kender" with his parents and
brother behind their home. Although not rich by any means, the
Zalderan family was comfortable, and the family business prospered in the town of
Virginwood in southernmost Solamnia.
The Zalderans could afford to have their sons educated, and so
they did. From the beginning, it was obvious that Lucius possessed a
rare intelligence and insight. His thirst for knowledge soon led him
to read virtually every book in the small town. His parents, on the
advice of their tutor, sent Lucius to a small School for Training in the Magical Arts
in the woods near the town. There a kindly white robe by the name of
Sondregath the Gray took Lucas under his wing and guided him in his
study of magic. Under Sondregath's tutelage, Lucius' skill in and
knowledge of the arcane increased considerably. Once Par-Salian
himself visited with Sondregath and complemented Lucas on his ability
and promise. Even though he had to endure the jealous ridicule of his
classmates, Lucius burned these words into his mind.
Besides just magic, Lucius was fascinated with the history of
Krynn, particularly the Heroes of the Lance. He studied just as
diligently about every land and race, hoping someday to see these
wondrous lands and perhaps even earn himself a place in Astinus' Chronicles.
These desires led the young mage to travel. He broke the news to
his family, and, far from opposing the idea, they agreed to aid him in
any way possible. His mother made clothes for him, and his father
(with a little magical help from Sondregath), crafted a beautiful
ironwood staff with an ingenious device. A hole bored into the top of
the staff received a continual light spell. With a common crystal
secured over the hole, it provided light better than any torch. The
light could be hidden in dire circumstances by a plug in the side long
enough to cover the hole.
Lucius' father also decorated the staff with the rune for Magus superimposed
on the family crest. Lucius has always suspected that Sondregath enchanted
the staff with certain powers, and he has been discovering them one at a time with careful study.
With his staff and provisions, Lucius set off for Caergoth to
book passage to Abanasinia. He planned to explore the Plains and then
continue on to the forests of Qualinost (before the elves closed them
again). However, a light-fingered kender named Quiggle Crumblebunn
changed his plans, and, in need of money, Lucius looked for a town
where he could re-fill his money pouch and perhaps meet some interesting people.
As he came upon the mighty vallenwoods and the Inn of the Last
Home, Lucius thought of the Heroes of the Lance and the history born
in this town. Deciding to become a part of it, Lucius hung up his hammer, as the
dwarves say, in Solace.
