Appearance: Nerthalye’s appearance is striking. She is extremely tall at just over six feet with exotic, almost elven features. Her skin is of a strange, slightly golden hue, and her hair is starkly white streaked with the same gold of her large, intelligent eyes.
Background: Nethalye was born in a small tavern en-route to the tower of High Sorcery at Wayreth. Her mother was a barmaid who had been taken in nine months before, but who died shortly after she was born. It has been rumored that her father was a mage who had simply traveled through. It has also been said that she had an identical twin who was born just before her, but who disappeared in unknown circumstances.
After her mother's death, the owner of the tavern took pity on the child, and raised her as his own. A common man himself, he soon found that she had remarkable talent in the art, and though not a practitioner of it himself, he knew well of its value. He sent her to study at a school for magi at an early age. Nethalye soon surpassed the other students, and studied magic voraciously. She saw the suffering of others, suffering which pained her, and she wished to use the Art to aid those in need. This, perhaps, was due to her upbringing in times of war and how she saw others treated. Always a compassionate child, it hurt her to see the ravages which she could not understand. Nethalye traveled for several years after the destruction of her Father’s tavern and his resultant death. She was overcome with grief, and it became her obsession to aid others and further her magic. She would not see what was done there happen again. In her travels during this time, people often refused her aid due to her strange appearance, and it pained her greatly, but she continued to attempt to aid those in need. Such is her good heart, and kind mild nature that she must have, so her adoptive father had said, inherited from her true father. Also, such was her obsession. Nethalye’s Travels finally came to an end when she came to Solace and found a Master.
Upon her entry into Solace, Nethalye gathered much attention. She at first
believed this was due to her strange appearance, but as she realized the oddity of the
attention of those in power, she sought answers at the Temple of Paladine. There, through
a revelation aided by the god himself, she found out that she was the Daughter of Raistlin
Majere and an unknown Irda woman. The shock and fear of this discovery left the young
woman in a state of utter confusion, but after much time, she learned to accept it. She
hides the knowledge of her heritage from others, fearing to live under the shadow of her
blood.
Few others know of Nethalye’s true origins, and among those she confides in are her two friends Rand Hollindale and Hikaru Moonstream, and the strange bard Kyle Wyndsong, a man who her heart follows closely despite all confusions.
Nethalye recently passed her grueling and emotional Test of High Sorcery, and is currently away from Solace, journeying with those she considers her dearest friends.
