Bill specializes in the solo performance of  Appalachian music, as learned from years of private research of past masters and studying with many of the most significant living musicians, including Alan Jabbour, Brad Leftwich, Bruce Molsky, and Tracy Schwarz. His Fiddle +Banjo CD, recorded in a log cabin in Lexington, Ohio, contains archaic music learned directly from master traditional West Virginian mountain musician Dwight Diller. Performing on vintage instruments and using centuries-old tunings, Bill presents music which is direct and honest. Holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the Ohio State University, where he was on the Dean's List and studied Ethnomusicology, Bill currently teaches Old Time fiddle and Clawhammer style banjo and composes and records solo instrumental music for fiddle and banjo; he also performs at Contra Dances with the band named Fiddle Faddle, based in central Ohio.
