Westminster Oaks, Tallahassee, FL 32308
On Thursday, February 15, 2007 afternoon between 3 and 5 PM, Bhanu and I went over to Westminster Oaks, Meandering Way, Tallahassee, FL 32308 to give a talk about India. The talk was part of FSU International Center's Global Ambassador Program where students, scholars and faculty from other countries go around the community and talk about the culture and customs of their countries.
We spoke about "India in Transition
" where we covered aspects like Education, Economy, Health Care, Customs, Women's Status, Family Unit, and other issues. There about 20-25 people in the audience. At the end of 45 minutes presentation several people asked questions about caste system, health care, marriage, economic equality and adjusting to life in the US. We both enjoyed it enormously.
