Somaliland Warns Col Cabdulahi Yusuf of Majerteenia |
| Somaliland warns Col. Abdillahi Yusuf that its patience is taxed to the limit and accuses him of working towards the failure of the Eldoret Conference. “Somaliland considers as direct intervention and naked aggression, the speech of Warlord Abdillaahi Yusuf at the Eldoret Conference, in which he raised the question of Somaliland’s future – which is not on the agenda and said ‘We hear that some countries are trying to get recognition for Somaliland, we say the former Somali Democratic Republic can not be divided, “This was stated in a press release from the Presidency today. According to the Press Release signed by Mr. Abdi Idiris Duale, the government is surprised that the Colonel raises the question of Somaliland, which he knows clearly, while his hometown is still divided and that he is facing a lot of problems in the territory he appointed himself to be the ruler. The Press Release added, that the government of Somaliland reminds Abdillahi Yusuf that its patience has been taxed by his continuous interference and plots such as the attack on the town of Las-Anod in December. The release emphasis that Mr. Abdillahi Yusuf had in the past tried a number of times to force Somaliland to got to war, create enmity between the 2 brotherly neighbourly peoples and create instability in the region. The Press Release states that Somaliland have shown a lot of patience in the past, but warns Colonel Yusuf that his meddling in Somaliland’s affairs will not be similar to the shading of the blood of his members of his clan, but that he will be responsible for all the consequences that will result from his continuous interference. The release accused him of trying to create further obstacles in the Eldoret conference, by raising the issue of Somaliland, for he envisages that the success of the conference will against his interests.
