The Republic of Somaliland is a peace loving nation its citizens respect its constitutional rights and believe in the freedom of speach and dialogue in solving all sorts of problems. On the 7th of dec group of armed shiftas attempted to asassinate the President of the Democratic Republic of Somailand . It is not the first time in history that people from that province within somalia have attempted or even asassinated a democraticaly elected somali president. In the 60s the former president of Somalia Mr Abdirashid Sharmaarke was asassinated by his own clan members now "puntland" a part of the former Somalia. The Honourable president of The Republic of Somaliland On 7th of December, 2002, the President of the Republic of Somaliland Hon. Dahir Rayale Kahin arrived on an official state visit in Lascanood, Sool, one of the six regions of Somaliland. Approximatelyabout 1400pm noon as the President and his staff were resting in their Guest houses, an army of terrorists sent by the warlord presiding over the neighbouring Puntland part of the former italian colony Somalia; Col. Abdilaahi Yusuf, attacked the President and his delegation in their guest house. Somalia the former Italian colony is well documented and has never had any state within it all throught its colonial days. Puntland is not a state nor a country but its part and parcel of the confussion thats making ends dont meet in the former italian colony. Therfore the republic of Somaliland will not compromise any piece of land within its borders to nobody whatsoever. We therefore are going to protect our borders from any bandits who want to cause instability and within our national borders. The former British protectotare teritorial grounds are therefore to remain and stay put as it has ever been. These armed (shiftas) a gang of armed terorrists that attacked the President of Somaliland and his delegation were met with resistance from a group of the local police and army stationed at lascanood. The number deaths reported were four and a few of the men wounded from both sides. This madness that provoked this attacks on Somaliland cities and, Its President was initiated by the hidious Warlord Abdillahi yusuf's .This dream that Sool is part of his Puntland administration should cease with immediate effect. Sool is one of the six regions of Somaliland, historically and geograpically. Somaliland has not ever provoked any of its neighbours and has no intentions to at any given time. Today we are telling the world community that The Peacefull of Republic of Somaliland shall and will never tolerate any aggresion from these aggressors or any other bandits that are trying to create confussions and instability to Somaliland and the entire region. We respect the territorial integrity as set during the colonial times . Sool and Sanaag are part and parcel of somaliland and anybody who does not think so can leave . Land is the basis of all independence and as we go back to history lascanood and erigavo has allways been part of the former British colony long way before the union between Somalia and Somaliland. We therfore are asking our neighbours Somalia to take care of their buisness and let Somaliland take care of its own . Same click war criminals are still hanging on to power today in the former (italian colony) part ,but only with names such as war loads . We are also asking all Somalilanders wherever they are to speak up and tell the world and this countries that has extended refuge to them about the progress and hard work that somalilanders are putting into the being of one Africas Democratic champions of today Somaliland. Somalilands autonomy is not to be compromised by anybody since thousands of inocent civilians were massacared by these criminals . Somaliland is here to stay. |
