    “ I’m coming, I’m coming. “ Kessa mumbled as she wandered towards the phone in the kitchen that had been ringing incessantly for the past minute.

    She walked over and picked it up, holding the receiver to her ear.

    “ Hello? “ she asked.

    There was nothing on the other end.

    “ Hello? “ she called, almost ready to hang up.

    She was about to put the phone down when she heard a voice on the other line.

    “ Kessa, wait. “ a soft voice pleaded with her.

    “ Who is this? “ she asked warily.

    “ You don’t remember? “ the voice sounded so disappointed. “ It’s me, Nick. “

    Kessa almost dropped the phone to the floor.

    Images of Nick making love to her only a few months before flashed through her brain.

    “ Nicky? “ she gasped, wanting to be sure it was him.

    “ Yes, it’s me Kessa. “ he smiled.

    “ Why haven’t you called? “ she asked in a trembling voice. He had surprised her so much.

    “ I’m so sorry baby girl, I wanted to, I was afraid you’d forgotten, afraid you wouldn’t remember, afraid of being rejected I guess. After our night together, I thought maybe you’d never want to see me again even though you said that you did. “

    A few tears slipped down Kessa’s face as she listened to him talk. Even though she couldn’t see his face, she could picture what it looked like.

    “ Baby, please don’t cry. “ Nick murmured to her. “ I’ve never forgotten you. I’ve thought about you every single day. “

    “ I’ve thought about you too. “ Kessa sniffled. “ I thought you’d forgotten your promise. “

    “ Never, never could I forget my promise to you. I always keep my promises. Kessa, baby, I need to see you, please. “ Nick asked softly.

    She sighed, fighting between what her brain told her and what her heart wanted the most.

    “ Baby please, even only for a few minutes. “ Nick cajoled her gently.

    “ Nick, I’m scared, “ she told him.

    “ Why darlin'? It’s only me. “ he asked sweetly.

    “ I’m scared because once I see you, I know I’m never going to be able to leave you. “

    “ Sweetheart, this time I promise, we'll never have to leave each other again. We'll think of something. " Nick decided.

    Kessa sighed.

    “ Okay Nicky. “ she finally consented.

    She could hear the smile in his voice when he answered.

    “ Kessa baby, I can’t wait to see you beautiful. “

    “ Me too. “ she felt more at ease, remembering the last time Nick had said that to her. Nick had kept his promise after all. She gave him her address and the area where she lived.

    “ I’ll see you soon sweetie. “ Nick exclaimed happily and the two said their good- byes.

    Kessa took a deep breath as she hung the receiver up. If Nick were only as far away as he said he was, then she’d only have about thirty minutes before he arrived.
 
    She sighed, looking down at what she was wearing; a thin pullover black hooded shirt and a pair of dark blue flare jeans, and decided it was good enough. It wasn’t as if they would go anywhere.

    She quickly ran a brush through her long blond hair before spending the minutes before Nick came, cleaning up a little.

    The doorbell rang exactly forty-five minutes later.

    Kessa swallowed nervously and turned the knob, coming face to face with a bright blue button down shirt that Nick was wearing that day.

    She gazed up at him as he smiled.

    “ Kessa, you look amazing. “ he murmured. “ You’ve always been beautiful and you keep getting prettier and prettier. “

    She smiled a little, feeling a little more at ease.

    But not really.

    What were you supposed to say to a guy you haven’t seen for the last two months and the last time you had seen him, he’d made love to you.

    “ Hi Nick. “ she hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest.

    “ I missed you so much. “ he whispered as he slipped his arms around her waist, wanting so badly to kiss her but he decided not to, just yet.
 
    “ I missed you too. “ she murmured, wanting him to kiss her.

    “ Do you want me to kiss you Kessa? “ he softly asked, coming closer and kicking the door to her apartment closed with his foot.

    She barely got a chance to nod her head before his lips came crashing down on hers in a blindingly passionate kiss.

    When they pulled away the two were both out of breath and more surprised than they’d ever been in their lives.

    “ Wow. “ Kessa got out, still trying to catch her breath. “ Where did that come from? “

    “ I don’t know, but you can definitely say that. “ Nick giggled a little, a devilish smirk forming on his face. “ Wanna try it again?“

    Kessa didn’t get a chance to answer before he kissed her again with the same amount of passion. She broke the kiss though when she felt him pushing her gently in the direction of the bedroom.

    “ Nick, no. “ she stopped him, placing a hand lightly against his chest. “ I don’t want this to turn out like last time. I see you, we make love and you leave again. I don’t think I can go through that a second time. “ she murmured, suddenly realizing that the carpet looked incredibly interesting.
 
    He gently tipped up her chin to look at him.

    “ Baby, I’m incapable of leaving you again. But, I can’t tell you in words how much I love you. I have to show you."  he whispered, kissing her temple softly, then her lips.

    This time his touch was gentle and reassuring.

    “ Please babygirl, I need to show you. “ Nick murmured softly.

    Kessa finally nodded and Nick smiled as he picked her up in his arms.

    “ First room on the left. “ she sighed close to his ear and he shivered at the warmth of her body.

    Nick kicked open the door with his foot, gently depositing Kessa on her soft waterbed.

    “ Babygirl, I love you. “ he whispered before bringing his body to rest above hers.

    Her mouth opened, she wanted to reply but she found herself speechless.
 
    Nick gently kissed around her face, showering her with little love pecks, while his hands roamed down her body to pull up her black shirt.

    Kessa shifted a little under his body and lifted up to help him.

    He smirked at her reaction but pushed her shirt up a couple of inches to kiss her lower stomach.

    “ Kessa, I wanna do everything for you. It’s my time to make long, slow, sweet love to you and that’s what I wanna do. “ he whispered to her, kissing up her body and sliding her shirt off in the process.

    She nodded, smiling at how sweet he was.

    Kessa’s fingers had already undone the first two buttons on Nick’s shirt, but she hadn’t gotten any farther than that. She got the last few undone and slid the shirt from his broad shoulders, tossing it to the floor.

    Nick slid his hands to twine with hers as they rested on his upper back. He kissed her gently before running his hands down her back to find the clasp on her bra.

    She moaned softly as she felt Nick loosen the clasp and slide the silk straps from her shoulders.

    He gave her a cunning smile and leaned his head down to kiss the valley in between her breasts with feather light pecks.

    Before Kessa’s mind even registered what he was doing, his mouth closed over one taut bud and he was sucking softly.

    Her reaction was instantaneous and she arched up against him, soft whimpers escaping her.

    Nick groaned softly, loving the feeling of her body pressed against his. The softness of her skin met with the hardness of his physique and the sensations were amazing. It drove him wild.

    His mouth came down hotly on her other nipple.

    Kessa wriggled and moaned, sparks of pure pleasure coursing through her body.

    His tongue tantalized her chest until she thought she would go insane.

    “ Nick, please. “ she whimpered when he started teasing her.

    He smiled, assuring her that he knew what she wanted, but still he refused.

    Her fingers tangled tightly in his spiky blond hair and moans escaped her.

    Nick’s strong arms wrapped around her body and he gently raised her up, sliding off the jeans he had unbuttoned before.

    “ Much better. “ he whispered, kissing her stomach. Nick dipped his head again, French kissing her navel. His head snapped back up again when he noticed the tiny silver ring that pierced her belly button.

    “ When did you get that baby? “ he asked, looking at it carefully, his breath warm on her body.

    “ Last month. “ she tried to catch her breath.

    “ Sexy, very sexy. “ Nick murmured his approval, leaning down again and tugging gently with his teeth.

    Kessa’s body reacted to his every touch, Nick made her feel emotions she had never dared to think of.

    Nick could feel himself becoming more and more aroused with every movement of Kessa’s body under his.

    She had been kissing his neck and trying to get him out of his clothes.

    Nick groaned, knowing that she was just as anxious as he was, but he refused to go fast.

    After a little bit of tugging, Kessa finally got Nick’s jeans off. His boxers did nothing to hide his erection, but he didn’t seem to worried about it.

    “ Nick, make love to me? “ she pleaded with him, tugging lightly on the waistband of his boxers.

    “ Kessa, babygirl, not yet. I wanna please you other ways first and I told you I wanna do this slow. “ he smiled gently, running his strong hands down her body.

    She was going to say something else but Nick silenced her by moving down her body again.
 
    Her hips snapped up when Nick began sucking gently on her through the silk of her panties.

    She almost screamed out, wondering when he was going to end the sweet torture of his teasing.

    Nick had told hold her hips down to keep her from moving so much. He knew what she wanted and his original plan was to tease her but he soon found herself giving into her every demand.

    Kessa’s hands drifted to her hips and she slowly tugged the silk boxers away from his body.

    Finally Nick was naked above her, and she ran her hands over his back, down to his butt, and back up again.

    He shuddered.

    “ Nicky, let me please you. “ she asked, wanting to give back to him as much as he gave her.

    He shook his head.

    “ No baby, it’s my time to pleasure you. “ he kissed her, loving the feeling of her soft lips.

    Kessa’s eyes drifted shut as Nick began kissing her body again. She wanted to feel him inside her so badly. But he still refused.

    “ Nick...” she started but then trailed off as he put a finger to her lips to silence her.

    “ Shh...now. “ he whispered before positioning himself over her body and sliding smoothly inside her as if they had made love a thousand times before.

    Nick thrusted slowly, struggling to keep his control. Just watching the expressions on Kessa’s face and her reaction to his touches made him more excited than ever.

    Kessa felt like she had her own piece of heaven. The feeling of Nick’s hands on her body while he was making love to her was earth shattering. She moaned softly, shuddering at his touch.

    “ Baby. “ Nick whispered, still thrusting gently. “ You’re so amazing. You feel so damn good. “

    She ran her hands through his hair, trying to get enough air to breath in between Nick’s wildly passionate kisses.

    He changed his pattern suddenly, moving in a sexy figure eight motion.

    Kessa gasped as she felt Nick deeper inside her than she ever thought possible. Another moan escaped her.

    Nick knew that she was nearing that final edge and so was he. He moved his hips against hers a little harder feeling Kessa grip his back even stronger.

    Kessa’s hips bucked up to meet his rhythmic thrusts.

    “ Babygirl, cum with me. “ Nick breathed out. “ Let it go and come with me. “

    His words and the combination of his movements took her over the edge as soon as he finished saying that.

    “ Kessa, I don’t want to leave you. “ he murmured, inhaling the sweet scent of her shampoo as he rested his head above hers.

    Her eyes widened, and she got the wrong idea. Sitting up, she glared at him.

    “ Oh, so I get it. You promise not to leave me again, that we’ll work something out...and then you’re up and out the door again? “

    “ Babygirl...” Nick started. “ That’s not what I...”

    Kessa cut him off again.

    “ Well fine, Nick Carter, cause I don’t need you or anyone else. You know, you’re really not the person i thought you’d be. “ she gave him a glance.

    Nick put his hand up to her mouth and covered it before her next sentence.

    “ Kessa, that’s not what I meant. “he repeated firmly, looking directly into her eyes.

    She fell silent and Nick slowly moved his hand away.

    “ It wasn’t? “ she squeaked out.

    He shook his head, smiling a little.

    “ Oh. “

    He urged her to lay down next to him again, stroking her hair.

    “ Babygirl, I feel like I know you better than I know myself. “ he whispered softly. “ I wanna be with you every single minute of the day, and when I’m not it hurts so bad. I want to wake up to you every morning, and fall asleep with you in my arms every night. I love you so much. “

    Kessa smiled at him, her eyes filling with tears.

    “ I love you Nicky. “ she snuggled next to him and kissed his neck lightly.

    “ Kessa, I have something to ask you. “ Nick looked a little nervous now.

    “ What is it Nick? “ she asked, looking at him worried. “ Was it something I did? “

    “ No, nothing like that. “ Nick smiled. “ Kessa, my beautiful babygirl, will you marry me? “

    Her mouth dropped open and she just stared at him, like he was an alien from another planet or something.

    Nick waited patiently, a smile on his face.

    “ Nicky, I don’t know what to say. “ she gasped.

    “ Say yes, and know that I’ll love you forever. “ he murmured.

    “ Yes Nickolas, I WILL marry you. “ Kessa told him.

    A grin like never before broke out on Nick’s face and he pulled her as tight as possible against him, kissing her.

    Kessa had tears running down her face, she was so happy.

    “ Nick, I have something to tell you too. “ she whispered, moving his hand to rest on her stomach.

    Nick didn’t need any words.

    “ There’s a little baby in there? “ he whispered.

    She nodded.

    His grin became larger if that was even possible.

    “ I love you and our baby. “ he murmured. “ Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl yet? “

    “ Nicky, you usually can’t tell by the second month. “ Kessa giggled.

    “ Oh, “ he smiled. “ I guess I have a lot to learn then."

    She laughed a little, snuggling closer to him, her eyes closing sleepily. " I think we both do Nicky. "

    He stroked her hair, just watching her as she tiredly fell asleep. Kissing her forehead, Nick ran his fingers down her arm gently and then closed his eyes, sighing as she curled tighter against him.

    His life was now complete, and this time, he knew it was right.
