Epilogue

10 years later

“Dad, dad!” 8-year-old Alison called at her father.
     “Yes sweetie?” Brian Littrell responded
"Can I go to the market with Anna?”
“Sure, honey. Be careful. And you missy.” He said to Anna who was passing by. “ Take good care of her.” And gave her a kiss on the forehead. The teen smiled and replied.
“Sure will.” And off to the market they were.
Brian watched the kids run off and felt two arms wrap around him from behind. He turned around to be met by his wife LeighAnne. He gave her a little kiss on the lips.
“They grow up so fast.” he remarked
“Yes they do. And Joan tells me that she has lots of admires.” Leigh said and laughed at the face Brian made.
“I tell you. If any boy touches her they will have to answer to me.” He said in a serious voice. Leigh laughed some more and Bri seemed to be lost in thought. Leigh knew what he was thinking.
      “You did the right thing.”
“I know that.... now, but sometimes I wonder. Had I done it differently would things not be the way they are? I don’t know. I feel like I missed on so much in her life.” Brian expressed his thoughts.
“You did what you had to do. And you know it too. It was for the best.” Leigh finished planting a soft kiss on his lips. “ I love you.” She said
“I love you too.” Brian replied rubbing his nose with Leigh’s and kissing her. This time a lingering kiss.
“Ew, get a room.” They broke apart at the voice of their little daughter, Alison. They laughed along with the rest of the people standing by. Anna stopped laughing and turned to Alison
“Hey, kiddo. Don’t say anything. In a few years you’ll know why they enjoy that so much.” Brian stopped laughing at that and stared at Anna. He could help the surprised sigh that left his mouth.
“What!? And how would you know that missy?” he asked as the people erupted in laughter again. Brian joined in the laughter. After the laughter died down Brian turned to Anna
“But how did you?” Leigh gave a soft chuckle at his side, he turned to her “What?”
“Oh, hun. Were you never twelve?”
“Yes. That’s why I’m worried. I know what goes on in those boy’s heads!” Leigh and Anna giggled and shook their heads.
“Come on. Let’s go talk to Nicky.” And they headed to where Nick Carter was with his 5-year-old son.
Brian shook his head. He looked around the yard at the traditional barbecue they held every month. All his ex-band mates were there along with their families and a few other friends. Backstreet Boys had long broken up, but all remained the best of friends. Joan, Paul, and Anna were there too. After that talk with Nick ten years ago he had decided that it wasn’t fair to the baby to live the life he was living. He had arranged that she went straight to a foster home, instead of an orphanage. Paul and Joan took her in and took great care of her. She had become a lovely teen, almost a women. How had time passed by so fast? He shook his head once again and gave a small chuckle. ‘You’re getting old, Bri.’ He thought smiling and turning to all the people at the yard.
“FOOD IS READY!” He was rewarded with a lot of kids at his foot with empty plates waiting for him to put the food on it. He smiled and thought again. ‘ Oh, yeah. Life is good!’

The End.
