Genesis 1: vs 26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion 18. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. I will make him an help meet for him. 21. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24. Therefore shall a man and a woman leave their father and mother, and shall cleave unto each other : and they shall be one flesh. ( notice this is prior to any sexual intimacy between the two) 9. Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: 10. Listen, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; 11. So shall thy husband greatly desire thy beauty: and your desire shall be unto your husband and he shall have rule over you.. Reflections: So many times we desire to live self reliant and independent from others, we often think or feel that we need no help from others. Ah but so often we missed the greatest opportunity and privilege of experiencing the joy and wonder of communion, love and oneness! Of dependence and completeness, for that is what we receive when we let go of self in place of sacrifice. There is a void in each of our lives that can only be filled by God thru his divine gift and providence, man and woman are not meant to be alone “ for it is not good that man should be alone.. I will make him a helpmate” it is better to marry... Gods special gift to mankind is companionship! and oh what joy and splendor we find in the company of certain individuals, when love whispers its gentle call in our hearts. When the pitter patter of sweet intimacy invades our homes and lives we find bliss and blessed peace. When we feel the warmth of the special touch of a love one nothing compares or will replace it. Yes God knows our deepest needs and desires and it is his good pleasure to grant us our needs and desires, “ delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” If we are ever to find his will for our life, his word for our guidance, his presence for our comfort, we must search him out with sincerity and humility. Hunger for his truth, for his touch daily, accept life at point blank value! Learn to make the best of bitter situations, get better not bitter, let character entice you, let faith attract you, let others be allured by your sincere love for God! Realize that you are never alone nor forsaken but there are times when you must leave and cleave, when God brings together a couple in matrimony that union is never meant to be broken or invaded, by others, friends or even family or ministers. Blood is not thicker than spiritual substance? the spiritual bond is more powerful than a family blood bond. That is why God said we are to leave father and mother and cleave to our mates, and “ what God has joined together let no one put assunder” sometimes we need to be willing to enter the valley of loneness and emptiness, of forsakenness & failure in order that we may be made whole and full of his character. That we may know his love and mercies which are new everyday, his compassions fail not, again trust is everything, lean on him, his grace is sufficient! HE LOVES YOU! A prayer: My Lord you are so wonderful and gracious! thank u my Daddy. I plead today ur comforts for my family and friends, may they know and experience ur warmth and wisdom daily, may your glory surround them, sustain them, lead them, oh blessed be ur name! allelujah! Yes u are Lord! we ask u to shower us in ur mercies and truth, to give us daily provision and guidance, forgive for ur tender name sake our mistakes and sins. Father I ask forgiveness for the hurt I may have caused others and you! You know how I waited all my life with anticipation for you to come into my life, and I am indeed your bride, and oh how I am so sorry that I hurt not only others but you also. I realize that I took for granted this precious gift given me oh how foolish of me! God I wish so bad to undo it, please take the hurts and sooth them, comfort those whom I‘ve hurt, give hope again. Help us to allow u to make us whole and complete, thank u for ur sweet companionship, for ur care, for ur love. For filling the void in our life with the love and care that comes only from your provision, your gifts, your sacrifice.
