    WHY WE BELIEVE WHAT WE BELIEVE!

If ever the Church needs to stand on a solid foundation, it is today. If ever the Church needs to know what it knows, it is today.   If ever the Church needs to boldly proclaim what it knows its TODAY!
To many people today are falling by the wayside, to many being led astray by false doctrine and error. The Church needs to know what is TRUTH! How to understand it, how to receive it, how to proclaim it and how to live it!
There are some Church’s that teach and believe that there are 3 Gods not one. Some Church’s teach that you don’t need the Holy Ghost all you have to do is believe in God, some teach that Jesus and Satan are brothers, some even teach that you can become a god and populate other planets, some teach you can be saved and still live in sin and never lose your salvation, some even teach that you can dress and live anyway you want, you don’t have to live holy just follow the traditions and go to Church every once in a while. This is why we need to know what we know and why we believe it.
Thus in this bible study we are going to talk about what we believe and why we believe it?

So just what do we believe? Maybe I should say what is it I believe and why. Lets make it personal.

1. For one I believe GOD is one! One God! not 3, not 2, not a 1000 but ONE! Why? Well the bible saids:
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:   7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:    10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;    11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness.. That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Romans 14:1 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Now lets look at some of these scriptures again, Do You think that maybe God and Jesus are crazy, confused or schitzo?
Did anybody seem to notice that they both claimed that every knee and every mouth would confess them as Lord and God. How can that be, it seems an apparent contradiction, on the one hand you have God saying in Isaiah that every one will confess and bow before him as God and him alone. Then you have Jesus in the N.T. saying the same thing about himself in the book of Romans and Philippians, that every knee and every mouth will confess him as Lord and God?
Did anybody ever notice that when John described what he saw in Heaven, he said he saw ONE throne not 3 and ONE seated on the throne? Well god is not confused and there are no contradictions there is a simple explanation, the reason they can both claim the same thing is simply because they are both one and the same being. in the Old testament God was a spirit and in the New Testament God put on a body and became Jesus incarnate, Emanuel God with us,

John 1:14 And the Word (God) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth
Then we have John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
We know that the Word, was God but Jesus also claimed to be the word incarnate as well. the Rhema! lets confirm that statement by looking at this verse according to Greek grammatical construction, for one an intransitive verb (was) cannot carry and object ( God) therefore it must refer back to the predicate nominative (the word ) thus there can no distinction nor separation be made between the word and God. And they have to be considered as a whole, AS ONE and the same individual. Despite the anatherous construction used you cannot insert an article (A) to try to separate or distinguish one from the other thus the word and God are one and the same.
You know why the devil wants you to believe there is more than one God? cause he wants you to worship him as God.
He knows if he can get you to believe in 3 gods or more , he can get in somewhere and get you to worship him as God.
It was the reason for his fall and demise, remember he said: Isaiah 14:13 I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Ezekiel 28:2 Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God.. yet thou art a man, and not God.. Be careful cuz that was the same lie he told Adam and Eve in the garden. “ In the day ye eat of the tree ye shall be as gods”

I believe God is a savior and there is only one way to be saved, we all need to be born again the Apostolic way with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. WHY? Well for one the bible saids:
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 6:23 “for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Take note: that in every incident in the bible were people were born again it always saids they spoke with other tongues, not once will you find an incident where someone received the Holy Spirit and did not speak in other tongues.. Acts Chpt. 2, 4, 8, 19, and 28: just to name a few. according to one verse “God never changes.. he‘s the same yesterday, today and tomorrow ”
Remember the bible saids that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. So therefore if your full of the Holy Ghost in your heart you will speak from what’s in your heart. I wish I had time to teach on how tongues is a sign of submission., it is the evidence that we have submitted ourselves unto God’s control. Remember in James the bible saids that the tongue is an unruly member who can control it?

There is only one way to be saved and only one name you must be saved under, Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Some folks like to claim Jesus don’t do it the same way anymore, yet my bible saids “ he’s the same yesterday, today and forever, he changes not” the method of salvation has not changed, in every incidence where someone is born again in the bible you will find it saids they spoke in other tongues (see chapter 2, 4, 8, 10, 19,) not once will you ever find in the bible one incident where anyone was born again and did not speak in other tongues. You should understand and know the difference between the gift of Divers tongues and the gift of the Holy Ghost tongues (called the initial gift of tongues)
Another reason why I believe God is a savior. Is because he saved me from the mess I was in, from an eternal hell I was headed for. He took me out of a pit of misery and shame, drugs, drinking and gangbanging, barhopping, and womanizing, I was a failure and a mess, my nick name was trouble with a capital T. He gave me hope when there was no hope. He took me from sin to the Son, from foolishness to Faith, from the love of money to the love of the master, from rags to royalty, from hell to Heaven. And you know what? if he did it for me he’ll do it for you! He’s a savior!

I believe God is a comforter! Why? Because the bible saids: “ come unto me all ye that are heavy burdened and weary, and I will give you rest for your souls, for my burden is easy and my yoke is light..” John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. “ In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.”

You know why else I believe God is a comforter? I know from experience. You see I tried to find my comfort in other things and came up empty. The bottle couldn’t satisfy me, drugs and drinking couldn’t do it, money wouldn’t do it, women couldn’t fill my emptiness. I kept coming back for more, no satisfaction, no comfort, no peace, but when I tried Jesus!@the Holy Ghost wow! I couldn’t get enough. He satisfies the emptiness inside us, he fills the void in our lives, It don’t get any better than Jesus. He’s the real thing. and oh what peace........

I BELIEVE WE SHOULD PRAISE, DANCE SHOUT AND MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD:
Psalms 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.    4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.     5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.   The bible said to praise him in the dance” To shout with the voice of triumph!”
Hey God is not looking for pew warmers but worshipers! he don’t like luke warm watered down Church’s, he don’t want no dead, dried up, shriveled up Church. He’s looking for a Church or a saint that’s on fire! full of the holy ghost! tongue talken, bible toten, scripture quoten, fire n brimstone preaching, saint of God. He said everything that has breath, praise ye the Lord! so what are we waiting for?   Hey God likes noise! its alright to shout amen and hallelujah!
Its alright to clap your hands the bible saids “ clap your hands all ye people”
Hey David danced and God was pleased with it. You may not be able to out do David in his songs but maybe you can out do him in the dance. Hey if your sad today remember Jesus said I’ll turn your mourning into dancing.
So why don’t you let go of that spirit of discouragement and get a hold of the spirit of the dance.

I believe we should live Holy! In the way we act, dress and talk. why? because the bible saids “ for without holiness shall no man see God” Yes some claim that there are many who dress holy on the outside but they are not holy on the inside. So holiness is not all that important they say? I may agree to the first statement but as for the second, I have a comment, If your holy on the inside there’s no way it will not show on the outside! You see we don’t dress holy to be holier than thou. We don’t dress holy just to be saved we do it rather to please God.

But Holiness has its reward, here’s a scripture for you, “ when the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard’ And that standard is holiness, and holiness does not just bring an anointing, it is an anointing, and to be anointed means to be set apart. Follow me, 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people”
Now lets think about that for a moment. When we begin to let down and compromise our moral values and holiness principles, we then open the door for Satan to come into our lives and homes and wreck havoc. What some of us do not realize is that Holiness is a standard, a hedge of protection, a covering so to speak, it’s what distinguishes us from sinners, makes us a peculiar people. Holiness keeps the enemy out and God in..
I BELIEVE GOD IS A HEALER, A RESTORER, A RECONCILER. Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.   5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Joel 2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.    26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Yes he’s a healer! Oh I know some of us like to doubt and question his healing power and promises. But let me ask you one thing, if you claim he hasn’t healed or come through for you? Where’s your faith? is it in God or is it in man? doctors, lawyers, medicine, or money? Hello! You know what the problem is with some of us? we tend to be satisfied with just a half healing. And when God gives a whole healing , we question him. Here’s some scripture food for thought. “ to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” ( and there ain’t nothing better than the presence of the Lord, who can argue with that? ) Lets read some more scripture, “In the presence of the Lord is fullness of joy and at his right hands pleasures forever more” to live is Christ but to die is gain” that I may know him in the power of his resurrection, and in the fellowship of his suffering, being made conformable unto his death”
You see to many times we pray for folks and they end up going to be with the Lord, we tend to think oh well.... Guess God didn’t answer that prayer, but according to scripture God did! You see they left this world of burdens and pains, misery and frailty, sickness and despair, for a better world. One where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death, no more crying, Now that my friend, is a total healing, a whole healing!

CLOSING:
Is there anybody today who needs some restoration? reconciliation? healing? There an altar here for you, there’s hope at this altar, there’s forgiveness here today, there’s joy at this altar, hey your not promised tomorrow, better get in while the going is good or perhaps things are bad for you today? Just remember it can get worse! Hey anybody wanna pray?
