Saw Palmetto | ||||||||||||||||
A native species of Florida and a part of the Longleaf Pine forest, the palmetto grows everywhere and will even grow back if cut down.
This is a very small palmetto that has just recently come out of the ground. The palmetto is a bizzare plant, it's stem is located below ground and it sends leaves up to the surface. The parts in the picture that you might think ar stems are not, in fact they are a part of the leaf. These are called petioles, they connect to the stem.
Thats all for now until I take pictures of the stems and roots. |
