One way to improve exhaust performance on the Firehawk Trans Am equipped with the LS1 engine is to replace the Pontiac OEM "Y-Pipe" that connects from the dual catalytic converters to the 3" intermediate pipe flowing to the SLP high flow exhaust and dual/dual outlets.

View of the original, factory installed Y-Pipe shows restrictive "flat" pipe joining the left catalytic converter to the 3" intermediate pipe and the SLP dual/dual exhaust, part of the 345 HP induction and exhaust system.

A view of the SLP 3" Aftermarket Y-Pipe shows larger, less restrictive design, delivering more exhaust, less backpressure and a deeper exhaust note via the stock dual/dual system.

You can clearly see the easy "bolt-on" design of the SLP aftermarket 3" Y-Pipe and how it mates up with two bolts.

The switch is complete!
Special Thanks to Stealth Performance for providing the SLP Y-Pipe at a great price and Billy from Prospect Muffler in Oakland Park, FL for a perfect install.
