| After the Betrothal, the priest leads us to a small table (Tetrapod) at the top of the aisle but before the altar and iconostas. This is where the rest of the ceremony takes place. Our bridal party follow us. |

| The first part of the service takes place in the entranceway/bottom of the aisle of the church. It's called the Betrothal and we are "officially" engaged! Sometimes people do this part at home before arriving at the church. We exchange the rings! |

| Our wrists are bound with a beautiflly embroidered cloth, placed on the Gospel and a cross is placed over our hands as we make our vows to each other. |
